My brother was in-country in the middle east three months before he got his sand BDUs. First three months wearing his forest greens. Never underestimate the power of bureaucracy.

The in-universe explanation for that is that the stormtroopers we see in the movies are the most lavishly equipped ones, as they are all either guarding the most important facility (the Death Star) or are part of Darth Vader's entourage.

Solo made this official by showing us the bottom level of the Imperial Army. Badly equipped, terrible morale, poor leadership.

I saw them all in the Theater as a boy and still watch them every couple years, but find Return of the Jedi the least enjoyable of the original three, and even less enjoyable than Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

I have seen New Hope most often, I think b/c they seem to show it more on cable than Empire.

I think the only movie I have watched more often and for more years is Jaws.
