Mulvaney Looks to Weaken Oversight of Military Lending

The Trump administration is planning to suspend routine examinations of lenders for violations of the Military Lending Act, which was devised to protect military service members and their families from financial fraud, predatory loans and credit card gouging, according to internal agency documents.

Unlike those stupid libtards, Republicans know how to support the troops! #MAGA! [/conservolibertariansatire]

My father was a lifetime career military officer. Having said that, I think vets deserve this. This is not the first time Republicans screwed over vets so that rich people could get more tax cuts, and the majority of vets keep voting red anyway. You can't say that red-voting veterans didn't know things like this would happen if they put Republicans in power, because Republicans have been doing things like this for a long, long time.

And you know what? Most of them will vote for Republicans again even after this.

So why should any of us be bothered by this when veterans obviously aren't?

Well, troops are all well and good, but corporate profits are at stake here, so we know what's going to trump (sorry!) what....

Oh, everyone gets that, just like we got it when Republicans during the Bush II administration made various cuts in VA programs to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.

Obviously, veterans must be getting too much help from the government. Why else would most of them keep voting Republican even after so many cuts to veterans' programs like this?

This is what got my brother attacked at the gas station. Conservatives really have a deep aversion to facts.

Lets not group all vets together. Only those vets who are traitors and vote democratic will protest such treatment. The good guys will say "Yes Sir" for god and country.

I was sitting in a coffee shop two days ago in a blue-collar town in New York, eavesdropping on three of the locals (one, ahem, wearing camo and camo baseball cap), as they groused about politics. I was actually dreading hearing a pro-Trump rant. But, NO! I judged too soon! One of camo's friends brought up Trump and said, with great bitterness, "He's abandoned the veterans after all that talk in the campaign." Camo's other friend said, "He actually admitted in the papers that he used Russian agents to win the election. They should've impeached him the day that came out!!" They all nodded their heads and grumbled in unison.
So I promise never to pre-judge again on the basis of a camo baseball cap.

Except this isn't about tax cuts.

It's about not holding lenders accountable for violating the laws applying to those who are deployed.
