Ted Nugent says Parkland school shooting survivors are ‘mushy brained children’ with ‘no souls’

When did we start asking this genius his opinion of things?

Disagree with unter on many things. But on this, I join (perhaps). Why is "someone I don't like said something I don't like" a story? Who cares? Now what this person said is amplified and repeated and many more people hear it. Well done.

He's not the only one, though, it's a conservative spokesperson campaign.

You left out the sitting Republican congressman Steve King's attack on Emma Gonzalez and then his campaign team's attack on both Gonzalez and David Hogg

Good point. I think there's even more. When did this become an acceptable thing--for adults to bully children out in the open? How far gone is the Republican Party?

Anything goes with them now. They have a huge persecution complex, and anything they do is now justified because deep state, conspiracy theory. They're just leveling the playing field see? You have to fight dirty against the forces of evil, and you must fight to win, not compromise.

I took a 40 hour handgun class at a large private facility in Nevada. The place had a Ted Nugent quote painted on the wall next to the main entrance to the lunchroom/lecture hall, like it was some kind of profound paean to responsible gun ownership. And just about everyone there saw him as their unofficial spokesperson. They agree with him on the right to maintain private arsenals and hate anyone who disagrees.

I think it would be foolish to simply ignore Nugent and his fans. They're rightwing ideologues, they're armed, they're influential, and they're dangerous.

Trausti and the like would want people to ignore the people that say and believe in deplorable things.
