Terrorists take over federal Building, threaten violence

The jurors claim it wasn't nullification but rather failure of government to meet their burden of proof on the conspiracy charge.

Looks like it was a jury of their peers--namely idiots. They didn't understand what "conspiracy" is.

It is the responsibility of the prosecution to make its case understandable and appealing to the jury. The cited story shows that the prosecution failed to meet its responsibility. While I think those bozos got lucky (they were trespassing and they did destroy some public property), I don't hold the jury solely responsible for this outcome - the prosecution obviously blew it big time.

They were also acquitted of firearm and theft charges, not just conspiracy. Also, note that 27 people were charged over the occupation, this trial was for only 7 of them. Around 10 had already pled guilty. They must regret it now.
