The DOJ is out of control

Congress could give marijuana an exemption.

It could by law put marijuana in the same category as alcohol. Which is a powerful drug with some regulation but is not a Scheduled drug.

The talk about marijuana is always about legalization, but it is by law a Schedule I drug.

And the US has been interfering in the affairs of other countries in this hemisphere using that scheduling as an excuse.

The only way the Federal marijuana laws will be changed is when the people demand it. Congress does nothing but posture.

Right now many people want it to remain illegal. It gives them power to interfere in the lives of others.

Could either Rawstory or LA Times provide a little more context of this amendment so the reader could make a judgement on how the DOJ is interpreting it?

Defying Congress. Breaking the law. These are areas of concern. Defying the will of the voters. Sounds like he's expecting the DOJ to make a call on how people feel about the issue. How about providing clarification. Seems to me, people are just trying to keep their asses out of the fire by doing their jobs.
Writing at the Huffington Post , Drug Policy Alliance Director of National Affairs, Bill Piper, chastised the Justice Department, saying they are defying the will of the voters.
“The Justice Department is ignoring the will of the voters, defying Congress, and breaking the law."

I would like to see Obama and Holder do what they can on the issue so all concerned can engage in the industry. All I expect from Congress is to do no harm.
