Really, that list isn't all that impressive, given the tens of thousands of members of Mensa, especially considering many of those people on that list don't qualify as doing "brainy" things with their lives. I mean, just check out a list of American Jews:

Here's the key to the paradox:

People in the top 2% of intelligence realize life is basically an illusion so they spend all of their time having great sex with their partners, and eating steak, while other people get caught up in saving the world only to become a footnote in history that nobody cares about because they're all listening to Nickelback and drinking Bud Light.

Also I just had two double whiskies so take everything I just said with a grain of salt, but it's kind of funny to think of it that way. I'm sure if you researched IQ/accomplishments many of history's greatest thinkers would have qualified for Mensa, but maybe the smartest ones wouldn't want to join an IQ society.
