I know how logarithms work, but that does not solve the problem of finding the natural log of a number. You have e as a definition to work with.

With e defined I am looking at fitting some form of e^-x to 1/x which canthen be fainthearted as a definite integral.
There can also be a polynomial fit to 1/x.
I do this for mental exercise and for pleasure, anybody can look up solutions on the net.
I was always under time pressure to solve problems, taking my time working math probes is enjoyable.
