Charted: How U.S. Household Incomes Have Changed (1967-2023)

When looking at inflation adjusted data, U.S. households have definitely gotten a whole lot richer since 1967.

The reality: all brackets are benefiting. And note that this chart understates the effect because it's based on household income and the average US household has shrunk.

But people notice the things that go up (housing) and don't notice the things that go down (most consumer products.)

Yes right now things are looking great. Wages up. Inflation and unemployment trending down. Good economy. Record Wall Street. 401ks growing. Union rights improving. Gas prices going down. Will be interesting to see if the republicans can keep it going.
