The republic is at stake!

Seems the republic of the United States of America is in danger of disappearing off the face of the earth about every four years.

It gets tiring hearing about our impending doom so much.

But . . . if it's really going to die can we just get it over with already? I'm looking forward to being absorbed into Canada. They seem like nice people for the most part.

Don't forget, every four years is the Most Important Election Ever!

Most important ever; I don't think you can necessarily know beforehand. If you do object to many of the rulings of Antonin Scalia, and justices like him, it's a very good opportunity to move the court in the direction that people left of center would like, even if only by a little. Put a Republican in the White House and you'll likely see another justice of comparable views to Scalia. If you're left of center and live in a swing state, this would be a bad time to put in a "protest" vote because you don't think Hillary is liberal enough.

All of the Canadians I have met are OFFENDED by the idea that they are not Americans. In Vancouver I almost started a riot at a bar for the suggestion that they weren't just an extension of California.

That would be worse than a texican seeing Picante sauce made in NY city.
