Bestselling Christian author reveals her daughter is gay and she’s a proud ally. Evangelicals, surprisingly, aren’t happy about it

Jen Hatmaker is the author of nine books, including one New York Times bestseller, and has been open about her support for the LGBT+ community since 2016.

This has caused outrage among evangelical communities and one Christian bookstore even pulled her books from the shelves.

In a special episode of her podcast For the Love during Pride Month, the Christian author revealed that her daughter Sydney is a lesbian, and has been out for some time.

Jen Hatmaker ought have realised 'writing' is not about advocating for people that are not you. I do hope Jen has realised that going forward, she ought only consider advocating where she plays a conservative christian woman who hates gay people.

I take it the point of this thread is to reinforce Metaphor's observations in his "This week in Woke: Actresses justly cancelled for committing atrocities" thread, by drawing attention to the fact that in suppressing art from artists who fail to uphold the religion's prejudice, Woke people are behaving exactly like conservative Christians?

Not many books on that list, as far as I can see at first glance, that were objected to because of extreme or graphic violence, or even just violence.

I guess people have to get their moral priorities right. Descriptions of murders and shootings, no major problem. On the other hand, depictions of two consenting adults other than a man and a woman loving each other or even just doing nice things to/with each other in private..........
