I had my say and you had yours. Anything more and I will just be repeating myself. If it really bugs you open a thread on private feedback with the mods. One thing that bothers me is endless debate that goes no where.

I think what bothers me most on forums such as this is disingenuous "mind reading". When person A writes something, and person B then declares what person A really thinks or believes or is saying (though they aren't saying that), especially after person A has attempted to correct them.

I guess that's a form of straw manning, which is just generally annoying. On some of the best forums I post on there is instead a tradition of "steel manning" people's points, which usually makes for better conversation. That's when people take the most charitable interpretation of their opponents statements.
