I bought a lot of pot in my day, everything from a few joints worth to a quarter pound (definitely distribution level). Never once did I have to go to the "hood" to get it. I once walked into a guys house to get some pot and there was a Sherriff's jacket hanging by the door. His father was a county sheriff.

But it isn't the point. A group which was persecuted for hundreds of years didn't let that history handicap them from success after emancipation. And, of course, prejudice and discrimination against Jews continued long after emancipation.
Why don't you think black people can be successful, laughing dog? Why do you think they must be held captive to their past, a past many don't even know about? Are you saying that the reason Dwayne Wade's cousin was killed was because the Wade family faced red lining 70 years ago?

Yes, closely related people will have many shared genes. It doesn't make them a distinct biological category.
If people are raised to be racist and do not mate beyond their perceived group the relationship will be closer.

Nobody would call me "black" or any of my known relatives but when I was born segregation based on race was legal in the US.
And, so?
So, essentially, more, not less, policing. And I think that's what the law abiding residents of these neighborhoods want. I support that, too. But it's really unhelpful when agitators whip up discord, making residents fearful to report suspects and more difficult for police to get the criminals.
