So yesterday Trump demanded an apology from the news media. After all they’ve been mean to him.

So what should the response be?

The media should not dignify that tantrum with a response.

I really hate Trump. He always has to make every issue about him. He always has to be the center of attention.

There are still a few Americans who don't engage in such insults. Jarrett is one of them and therefore deserves an apology. Trump and probably ABC don't warrant that kind of respect. Typical for news media. A new low for the office of the POTUS.

ETA - What's the word? Ah! ludicrous: (adjective) so foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous.

The idea that he needs to maintain his dignity or sense of honor is ludicrous. He has none.

Many of the small minded heartland voters are probably wondering the same thing. Roseanne Barr tweeted what other people without imagination or verbals skills already think and talk like every day. Namely comparing black people to monkeys. It's not an uncommon racist slur to use. It's abhorrent and Roseannes's employer came down on her like a ton of bricks, it was the last straw in a long and nasty stream of comments from her twitter feed.

We can remove Barr from the public eye because she was in the public eye and the brainland wasn't having any of her nastiness. The President, on the other hand, gets to stay in office when he has said things that were far worse, and which has far more impact than shock or hurt feelings. No one apologized to Barr for the pouncing on she got either Mr. Trump. Language matters, and in the evolution of the human race, these types of comments are at the bottom of the scale of the human evolution chain.

"You're a sleaze."
"Slimeball."
"...that sleepy-eyed son of a bitch."
"He committed many crimes."
- DJT at the Presidential microphone and twitter feed. F*** you, Mr. President, sir, your honor. You are 'unpresidented.'
