There was no mistaking Ricky Vaughn’s influence. He had tens of thousands of followers, and his talent for blending far-right propaganda with conservative messages on Twitter made him a key disseminator of extremist views to Republican voters and a central figure in the “alt-right” white supremacist movement that attached itself to Trump’s coattails. The MIT Media Lab named him to its list of top 150 influencers on the election, based on news appearances and social media impact. He finished ahead of NBC News, Drudge Report and Stephen Colbert. Mainstream conservatives didn’t know they were retweeting an avowed racist and anti-Semite, but they liked what Ricky Vaughn had to say.

“He did this thing that people connected to organized white nationalism have not been able to do ― walk both sides of the extremist line in the sand,” said Keegan Hankes, a data intelligence expert at the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Ricky Vaughn also played an important role in amplifying disinformation injected into American politics by the Russian government. HuffPost and a team of data scientists known as Susan Bourbaki Anthony that tracks online propaganda analyzed who was retweeting the now infamous Kremlin-controlled Twitter account @TEN_GOP, which consistently praised Trump, attacked Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and churned out a vile medley of racism, Islamophobia and “fake news.”

In the data set of significant accounts we looked at, Ricky Vaughn retweeted @TEN_GOP the most, by far.

Amid all this infighting, an angry Nehlen dropped Ricky Vaughn’s real name:

Douglass Mackey.

So who is Doug Mackey?

... Mackey is from Waterbury, Vermont, a small town of around 5,000 people in the middle of the state. His father, Scott, a lobbyist who focuses on tax policy affecting wireless communications and the digital economy, was a former legislative aide to the late U.S. Sen. Jim Jeffords (R-Vt.). When contacted by email, Mackey’s parents, Scott and Kathy Mackey, told HuffPost that “we were devastated to learn this week of Doug’s beliefs and on-line activities as reported in the Huffington Post. They are antithetical to the values we hold and with which he was raised. We are still trying to understand how he could have done something like this and hope he will find some way to make amends for the harm he has caused.”

...Mackey appears to have moved that year into a two-bedroom apartment on Lexington Avenue in the Carnegie Hill neighborhood on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. That was certainly his residence by the time he voted, as a Republican, in the 2016 election, according to New York voter registration information.

By then, his apparent alter ego Ricky Vaughn had become a mighty pusher of propaganda, teaming up with other far-right operatives, such as Milo Yiannopoulos, Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec, to spread racist lies and dangerous conspiracy theories.

He still engaged in the trolling and harassment that conveys status within the far-right. After the mass shooting at a Parkland, Florida, high school in February, Ricky Vaughn, true to form, used another one of his Twitter accounts to attack Cameron Kasky, one of the survivors, after Kasky advocated for gun control. In a tweet that he has since deleted, he wrote:

“You’re a crass, craven, disgusting worm. Smiling and laughing and taking selfies in the wake of a massacre. Why? Because you’ve punched your ticket now. You’re famous, just like you always wanted to be. A little theatre whore. Dance for the cameras, monkey.”

This would be laughable if it weren't so horrific

The techniques he used were interesting and should be studied so they can be effectively countered. It is very hard to find a collection of his tweets now, but I imagine that political operatives have them all. If I find an imgur album or something I will post a link

This is one that is referring to this article, the author being Jewish, IIRC.

Essentially, it boils down to most of these people using variations of White Rabbit Radio's "The Mantra"

The Mantra

ASIA FOR THE ASIANS, AFRICA FOR THE AFRICANS, WHITE COUNTRIES FOR EVERYBODY!

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.

The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.

What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?

How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?

And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?

But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-white.

Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.

This is the clearest video distillation

Interestingly, two main alt-right women have pulled out of the label and maybe the movement just now

and

comments on the second video are in this vein

Just remember.....Whatever label you come up with next, will be flipped on it's head. You cant keep running. Even a benign comment like 'its ok to be white' is deemed racist. I, being a traditional catholic, am labeled as a racist on the ADL website.

y that logic you can't wear any label. The left loves to infiltrate and discredit labels so that we have nothing to unite under. Why is it that the left is removing all these statues? Why is it that patriots and the flag in general is now being attacked? Why is it that Merkel has been seen many times disrespecting the German flag?

It's called divide and conquer. In order to divide you have to destroy the symbols under which people unite. The label alt right doesn't represent any person or at least it shouldn't, it represents a set of ideas and values.

You will find no comfort under any lable including "Christian". That label too will be attacked and already is.

You mentioned people making nazi jokes painting a bad picture on your family, many are paid plants to do just that. If we are ever going to get anywhere we will need a symbol to unite under, a symbol which represents a set if ideas and values.

This comment is very interesting and I have bolded what I think is the most important part

Christians are CONSTANTLY attacking people who don't hold similar beliefs (example: Nick Fuentes), Evangelicals, etc. while atheists work with them or call themselves "cultural-Christians" in order to not offend. It's pretty sad that Christians can't handle an opinion that differs from their own. Vox Day was just an alt-lite guy who tried to to use the popularity of the alt-right and redefine the meaning of alt-right to suit him. Nick Fuentes has Mexican hertiage and follows a religion that's a lot more popular in Mexico than it is in the United States yet calls his show "America First". Sorry, Catholics did not found the United States, they founded Mexico. Catholicism is the religion of the illegal alien. Mormons did not found the United States either, Mormons were a few eccentric polygymists/cultists with mulitple wives (in a similar vein as Islam) who lived in the middle of nowhere that spread their religion through expansionists tactics.
I don't know why you would use the alt-right label in the 1st place if religion is important to you. I can't think of an alt-right leader who is religious. Spencer, Enoch, Millenial Woes, Red Ice, Jared Taylor, etc. all either open agnostic/atheists or claim to be "cultural Christians" which translates to "non-believer". RamZPaul calls himself a Christian but I'm pretty sure he's just another "cultural-Christian". RamZPaul ran off to Hungary and doesn't even live in the United States. Also, a lot of Christians won't accept Mormons and don't consider them Christian.

At any rate, atheism and antisemitism against the roots of christianity is partially sowing severe discord in the alt-right.

An atheist or Odinist (type) alt right would be more stable.
