A brawl broke out during a meeting of parliament in Kiev today, after communist leader Petro Symonenko accused his political opponents of contributing to the Crimea crisis by using extreme tactics to oust former president Viktor Yanukovych. The comments riled two nationalist leaders, who ran at the podium to physically stop him from speaking.
What an ironic way for them to contest his accusation.

This new Ukrainian government is a joke. It began as a very unholy alliance to begin with, but it was an unholy alliance that included neo-Nazis and ultra-nationalists who had a fondness for bringing weapons to their protests.

The immediate purpose of the demonstrations was to stop the Yanukovych government from accepting Russian aid that the government desperately needed even as the West was refusing such aid. Now the government is faced with an impossible task, and they are probably split three or four ways at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military has been noticeable for their silence. They've remained out the fray, I suspect, because they are as divided as the rest of Ukraine and the officers probably aren't confident that the troops would follow them since some are pro-Russian and others are pro-Western. But Eastern Ukrainians are threatening to secede and with the troubles going on Kiev, one cannot rule out the Ukrainian military might find enough unity to try to bring some semblance of order to the situation.

Its very telling that pro-Russian uprisings are happening in eastern Ukraine. Yet the American narrative we are supposed to believe is that Russia conquered the Crimea and somehow intimidated these pacifists into not lifting a finger to stop the INVASION!!!

There was no invasion. Russia had troops in the Crimea under treaty just as we have troops in Germany under treaty. No Russian troops have entered Eastern Ukraine, and when Kerry was crying "invasion," they didn't even have any on the border. Our policy here has been really stupid. We've insisted on talking tough when we know very well that we can't do a thing about it. Our sanctions are a joke. We can't sanction Russia much because we don't buy or sell much to Russia and Europe certainly isn't about to make the kind of sacrifices that serious sanctions would require.

We should have played the whole thing down instead of magnifying it then looking weak with our toothless responses.
