Original Kirk would not have been a conservative. By the backstory on him, original Kirk was an intellectual who read a lot, graduated college and the Academy and did well.

Reboot Kirk sure sounds like a contender for conservatism. From a broken home, lives out in the sticks, loner, not very well educated, hellraiser.

I never saw any mention of the Republican party in any Star Trek movies. If there was no Republican party mentioned in these movies, then the Film character could have been a Republican.

No, no, no. We need puffy chests and bluster. Can't have hero action movies without them. Besides, the directive was to go out, seek new civilizations, and explore. Can't do any of that if you're all the time eliminating those who disagree with you. Sooner or later you're gonna run up against a Borg that you can't handle. Star Trek was all about evolution. Not Kirk, but, Star Trek. Kirk is the fool on the bridge.
