You could have a sub-forum for maths, as a sub-forum to the main science forum, with a hot-link of some kind from the philosophy->logic forum. Or vice versa. That would link practical applications of maths within science, to theoretical mathematical issues which tend to be more closely aligned to logic.

However this Math thread is in the science forum so linking solutions to physics (representative of all science requiring computation and analytic solutions) over history is the thing to do.
