I only ask because when Obama was President the purpose was to stay out of the FBI investigation of Hillary. Because otherwise it would be biased. However, now that Twitler is President the job of the DOJ is to defend Dear Leader of the Holy Order of Pussy Grabbing. And doesn't the White House already have an office of lawyers for that job?

Jess sayin.

At this point the job of all departments of the government is to carry out His Flatulence's wishes. The Constitution is to be destroyed as soon as possible.

The job of the Department of Justice is to deliver justice, not to serve as personal attorneys for the president.

The DoJ would have told the president that the proposed Muslim ban is 99% certain of being overturned because it is unconstitutional, had they been consulted before it was signed. This is something that Trump realized which is why it wasn't submitted to the DoJ before it was issued.

This points out a tremendous failure on Trump's part to understand the government and in general for people to understand why the government can't be "run like a business," the executive branch of the government doesn't work for the president, they work for the people of the nation. They serve at the discretion of the president, but they serve the people.

And in the case of the DoJ they serve the law.
