Do you still believe in what Fauci did during the pandemic? And even more important, do you still feel he was representing your best interest conducting gain of function research before the pandemic? Do you believe the subcommittee research pdf found on the government website represents a biased view?

We'll never know for sure. I've done a lot of reading on this, and it appears more likely that covid came from a bat. We don't see evidence that it was engineered. Below is a good nonbiased site on this. My guess is that its 2/3 likely that it was naturally occurring; 1/3 that it came from a lab leak. Why is this such a big deal with the Maga world BTW?

Correct. Covid dosn't seem to have the hallmarks of a lab engineered virus. I'm not an expert. And it's not 100%. We'll never know for sure. But agree with you that this is another example of the fact that conservatives don't understand science.

I find that Trump is as reliable as Putin in matters of reality. So, no.
 
Nothing Fauci said was in any way different than any other virologist in the world.

The countries where their leaders actually did listen to their medical experts didn't have to use ice cream trucks as impromptu morgues. The US did.

It is fucking mental to even suggest Trump was right about his most famous fuckup.
 
There were many Covid related crimes committed during Trump's first term as POTUS, and they were all committed by Trump and his cronies. They resulted in the deaths of one million Americans, magnitudes more than the deaths that would have occurred if someone else was POTUS in that period. Trump is directly responsible for most of those deaths through his incompetence, stupidity, and sheer bloody-minded ineptitude.

Fraud and criminal negligence come to mind. Deliberate acts of deception leading to the wrongful deaths of others is quite literally the definition of manslaughter so an argument can be made there as well.
 
Holy Christ. This was only 5 years ago.
Ask Herman Cain's widow how sensible the Asshole's decisions were.
He wanted the country to "open" as normal in April 2020, with the churches packed. (Do a little research about what happened in ultra-conservative Christian Right congregations that decided to ignore the warnings of the health experts.) He spent summer and fall putting on rallies where virtually all of the faithful attended without masks.
Trump not only ridiculed Biden's masks, he got his followers to ridicule them. He spread complete quackery about medicines that had no demonstrable effect with covid. The upshot was a bunch of zanies who wouldn't take the vaccine when it arrived in what the Righties should have called a miracle of modern science. These idiots comported themselves like proud American freedom fighters -- meanwhile the morgues in our big cities ran out of room for the dead that had to be placed in moving vans in hospital parking lots.
When he caught covid himself, he behaved like an absolute shit -- he met with donors at Mar-a-Lago and put their health in jeopardy. He went on the debate stage with Biden, knowing he had tested positive for covid. Poetic justice was denied when covid didn't kill him -- he of course got the deluxe therapies that most of us couldn't get at that point.
Obviously Trump despises Fauci, the way any uneducated lout despises those who have actually acquired expertise in their field and who dare to call bullshit on quacks.
