The government is the last place I'd look for recommendations on a healthy diet. The people within who make these recommendations come from and return to the food industry.
It is best to replace red meat with beans and nuts as much as possible, keeping the fish and poultry.
Personally I largely stay away from dairy and prefer a vitamin D supplement.

Look at the base of this pyramid. Looks like portion control and dreaded exercise.

One objection here: I asked my doc about this--there isn't actually any need for daily exercise. What counts is the amount, not the distribution. Those of us who engage in endurance activities can perfectly well get enough exercise on the weekends. Goal is 30 min/day--but 210 min on one day/week is the same, just something your average out of shape person can't do.

Sure but you miss one and you miss a week's worth. And it largely limits a person to some form of cardio. Few are going to be doing 210 minutes of strength training. The current consensus is strength training is better than cardio for older people. And while I have no plan to give up long bike rides, resistance bands have become a year long routine now; low cost, low impact, and little storage space required.

Seems harsh. Can SNAP recipients still get R&B, Rock, or Classical?

I suspect this is more about hostage taking. He's trying to make the Democrats cave rather than specifically trying to hurt people.

I think it is just another example of Trump appealing to his audience, people of poor character, just like him. They take pleasure in stories of others being harmed, others being put at a disadvantage. Bonus points if it's perceived to be people who do not look like them.

WASHINGTON, Nov 7 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday allowed President Donald Trump's administration to withhold for now about $4 billion needed to fully fund a food aid program for 42 million low-income Americans this month amid the federal government shutdown.

I guess Trump is happy that SNAP recipients are suffering as much as possible. (also in post #88 I mentioned how shops were banned from giving SNAP recipients discounts) [though I think SNAP is being partially funded]
