I doubt he'll have a melt-down.

Like the debates, he's already attempted to undermine the election process to cushion his upcoming loss.

He'll just grow more and more quiet and retreat behind his campaigners.

He will be like Bernie, holding out as long as possible against conceding which he probably will do, at least for a while, to keep the attention on himself longer. Then he'll realize the American people have spoken and regardless of whether he concedes or not, the massive machine of Election will grind forward without him, not needing his approval. Then realizing the attention is moving on to the winner and not the loser, he'll make a grand gesture. I think it will be a left handed concession. Not admitting that he's conceding, but basically having no choice.

I still feel sore about 2000 and I'm pretty sure I have more right to it than any of the HALF of the Republicans who feel preemptively sore about 2016.

Just to get it out of my system, I'm going to rant one more time: Gore captured the national popular vote, and I accept that that means nothing, and I accept that more valid votes in Florida went to Bush, and that even if the Supreme Court hadn't pulled the rug out from under Gore's desired recounts he would still have lost the election. But it still really bugs me that more voters in Florida in 2000 wanted Gore to win than Bush. If all of the invalidated over-vote ballots that clearly indicated a preference for one of the candidates had been legitimate, Gore would have won. But in the end and according to the rules of the election, Gore simply didn't win. And I'm okay with that.

It had nothing to do with any rules.

It was political maneuvering.

Bush got the matter taken up with the SC where it had no business.

Once there it was a done deal. With Bush ahead the Republicans on the Court abandoned any law or precedence and stopped the counting to get their man in.

As disgraceful a display of partisan politics on the Court as is possible.

No to derail, but just to remind everyone, the W team did a lot more than whine to SCOTUS. They filed the first lawsuits in Florida in order to slow down recounts, minimize discretion allowed for judging ballots. They even faked a grass roots storming of the Palm Beach Canvassing building. They did everything to obstruct a recount.

Like Zorq, I still feel the burn from the election. The massive media recount was reported about on the heels of 9/11 where talk of electoral issues was out of bounds.

We had to accept it, and it fucking pisses me off that Obama wins in a landslide and Republicans acted like obstructionist fuckwads.

That was his m.o. with the whole birther thing, Melania's visa fraud, etc., so he'll probably do the same thing again, provided he loses by a substantial enough margin.

But I don't think he's looking at the election as anything other than a business venture where he gets to spend other people's money on himself.

We'll see early. It'll be about 8:00 when Trump goes down in the electoral college. Map will have a lot of red but he'll be losing. Then about 9:30 or 10:00 PM once they start making calls on NC, OH, and FL.

Sighhhhhhh... Trump is now bellowing three major polls show him ahead of Hillary. Ignoring the many polls that show otherwise. The problem is there are always a few polls out of step with the vast majority to act as straws for a drowning candidate to grasp at. Rat Muffin Polling, Grave Mistake polls, LA/USC et al.

RCP, Huffington Post and other poll aggregaters show Clinton about 6%. A bunch of silly conservative pundits are hoping for a Bradley effect vote that will save Trump.

It all began when Sigmund Freud's nephew went to America and taught them how to use advertising, and it got worse wherever politics came to seem a promising career for the not-very-talented. Now the question is, how will outlets like Faux news handle the defeat and conspiracy think that seems likely to follow?

They are in a tough spot. On the one hand, Trump has been dissing most of the Fox talking heads just as much as any other news outlet, so they may not be inclined to support his insanity. On the other hand, Trump TV will likely start airing on or around Nov. 9th, so Fox will need to step up their insanity in order to continue to appeal to their insane base and not lose ratings to the trainwreck that will be Trump TV.
