So, apparently a basketball player in the WNBA is regretting a post they made while angry about being thrown out of the game. It read "WHITE PRIVILEGE".

The link has a video of the foul. I'm not really certain the difference between flagrant foul grades. All I can tell is the leading defender's arm should have been the contact point as she'd be going for the ball. Yet, it is the trailing arm clobbers the other player. It was contact from the neck upwards and the contacting arm isn't remotely making a play for the ball. White privilege? More like a rather nasty foul.

For future reference, posting while angry is probably not the best idea. Blaming racism on a foul call, probably not the best way to go. And if you can't instantly pop up some instances where similar fouls didn't lead to ejections and instead diatribe your way to trying to defend a ridiculous post, instead of saying "I be dumb when I rage posted... sorry", you ain't fooling anyone. At least if you cop to it, people can shrug and say, 'yeah, have be dumb too' and move on.

It's relatively subjective. Technically a Flagrant 1 is "unnecessary contact" and the penalty is two free throws and possession of the ball. A Flagrant 2 is unnecessary and excessive contact, and the penalty is two free throws and the ball, plus the offending player is ejected. Refs look for things like contact above the shoulders, wind-up before contact, etc. The WNBA is to my eye more tightly officiated than the NBA, and contact is excused less often. Still, Flagrant 2 is relatively unusual. I watch our local WNBA team and I don't think I've seen a Flagrant 2 called yet this season. I can't see enough on the video to form an opinion in this case.

I love how the usual suspects go anti-trans crusading and don't give a fuck that female athletes are paid significantly less and are abused more.

I'd actually prefer to watch the WNBA than NBA. I that it's much more entertaining. Having said that, WNBA is for women athletes. All things being equal, woman athletes would be dominated by men if playing the same league.

Carrington did not mean that the foul call was white privilege. She even says so in your link. She probably was meaning the no call for the retaliation by Cunningham. That would typically be a technical, like in this play, where both players were ejected.

I'm not seeing a parallel here. In your video the fouled player gets in unabated to the fouler. In the OP case, a teammate of the player fouled is in there immediately to hold her back. Also, the foul in your post was lazy, the OP, it was reckless.
