#WouldThatEndRacism

Started, just like #ImNotKiddingMaddi by a Hillary misstep.

And inevitably, two Hillary hashtags collide

Criticizing stupid statements is not butthurt or sexism. Let me spell it out. Her statement is a red herring. The arguments for or against breaking up big banks have absolutely nothing to do with issues of racism or sexism. I realize in the minds of some of you Derec is one of the most evil people to walk the earth so opposing anything he says is justified by the gods. But must you be so contrary to rational thought that you're compelled to defend such obvious logical fallacies from your heroes?

Who here idolizes Hillary Clinton?

This quote from Hillary seems suspiciously as if it's aimed directly and obviously t Bernie Sanders' obstinate refusal to discuss racism as it's own issue, and his habit of discussing "big banks" and "Wall street" even when asked to simply discuss racism, by black people, at a town hall aimed at talking to black people about their issues.

So, in other words, if her statement is taken in context, then the alleged stupidity of that statement disappears, and this thread circles back around to #massivehillarybutthurt.

It's pretty obvious that there is some context to the quote that needs to be reported in any reasonable discussion because by itself the statement is clearly a partial quote. To make fun of a partial quote is good for a few laughs, as shown, above with the responses given, but it won't make a point to any of us. So no "criticizing stupid statements" has taken place, since the whole statement is not presented.

However, the rest of what you said entertainingly gets at the point. CORRECT breaking up banks has nothing to do with fixing racism or sexism. Hence Bernie is not talking about anything that will even work toward mitigating racism or sexism, he only is talking about big banks. THAT'S the discussion topic for you. Hillary does want to address these issues, Bernie does not. She asks her voters to think about that.

(This really wasn't rocket surgery.)

Obama said "all lives matter", but there are some people that seem to live and die on the "black lives matters". Sanders says income disparity is a black issue, a latino issue, a white issue, and some people seem to be upset that he doesn't concentrate on it being a black issue.

I agree with him that income disparity is a black issue. I'm glad he's working on that.
I was disappointed when he was asked directly about racism and its effects that it was the ONLY issue he would discuss. I think there are other racism issues that must ALSO be address in ADDITION to income disparity. That would have been a perfect time to talk about them.

IMHO

Sure. She's shoring up her status as the issues leader for people with black skin and vaginas, and leaving that whole pandering "break up the banks" identity politics to Sanders.

Which is exactly what Hillary implied. And yet here you are whining about people's reactions to yet another one of Derec's stupid OPs. All politicians say stupid or thoughtless things. Yet, Derec lasers in on Hillary and no one else. Why is that do you think?

Are you so contrary to rational thought that you are compelled to propose such a logical fallacy that Pointing out that Derec is butthurt about Hillary Clinton means that Hillary Clinton is a hero of anyone?

So she is playing the race and gender cards. Not a very effective apologetic for the Heiress Apparent.

No, she is talking about the negative social effects of inequality on all of us. Which is a real issue. And she is pointing out that Sanders' one-dimensional treatment of it won't fix it.

As opposed to her well-thought-out-and-guaranteed-to-work fix, right?

I wonder if it's like her genius level plan to defeat Isis:

Hillary's strategy to defeat Isis:
✓Defeat Isis in Syria & Iraq
✓Disrupt & dismantle terrorist infrastructure
✓Harden our defenses

Hillary's plan to end racism and sexism:
✓End racism
✓End sexism
✓Margarita Tuesdays

What do you mean by "inequality"? Women and blacks have all the rights men and whites have. Doing things like demanding that women earn the same for unequal work (meaning in effect that women would make more for equal work) or to increase unfair advantage minority applicants have due to so-called "affirmative action" is not going to fix it either.
Hillary is so beholden to identity politics that in a town hall she could not even commit to saying that women, just like men, should have to register for selective service.
Hillary Clinton — Alleged Feminist — Declines To Back Generals Who Say Women Should Register For The Draft
That's because feminism has nothing to do with gender equality but with fighting for advantages for women. Thus sexist policies that benefit women are supported by feminists.

Allrighty then. Well, you shouldn't vote for her or anyone who talks about addressing these issues.
