Despite it being classified as Semitic, I believe that Yahweh was a borrowing from the Indo-European god-legend. Jove in Latin was pronounced "Yo way," and denotes two forms of "go," meaning "Hurry, run for your lives!" It meant that these peoples were being invaded by someone like Genghis Khan and probably from that same Mongoloid-Tatar-Hun race. Because of the cruelty of the Hebrew god, the Jews were probably conquered and enslaved. (In fact, the captivity in Egypt never happened and must have been a re-telling of the original enslavement and exodus).
Further along that line is the mildness and indifference of Jupiter (Jove), so I surmise that the pre-Roman tribes made their escape without any harm done to them. The Greek god Io was a contracted form of the other two legends-becoming-gods. She wandered all over the eastern Mediterranean shorelands, denoting refugee status.
