As a hobbyist painter myself, I'm always curious to see what fans of the medium find appealing. No offense to my friends in the photography/sculpture/printmaking/video/Lego building/graffiti/"performance" art world, just thought I'd keep it simple this go around. Here's a few of my current favorites - painters that blow my mind with everything they put out. How say you?
Jerome Witkin, the guy is a master of colored light.
Phil Hale, dark figurative work.
Daniel Sprick, he's a modern master of still life's who incorporates such a fantastical element to what is typically (IMHO) a boring genre.
