Indigenous Groups are Calling for the 'Decolonization' of Australia

Why is it that indigenous children experience more abuse and disadvantage? What are the specific circumstances which contribute to disadvantage? Abuse?

The causes of disadvantage are manifold. Being born in a jobless family. Older siblings and adults with substance abuse problems. Insecurity of tenure and crowded housing. Lack of education and educational opportunities. Being in a community where education is not valued. Living in remote and very remote locations where services are practically nil.

Abuse, especially the sexual abuse of young Aboriginal girls, is caused by an abuser. There might be reasons one becomes an abuser but there is no excuse for becoming an abuser.

Of course to all of that. But what I was getting at is what factors lead to the above?
