Are we now in full blown fascist totalitarianism?

The review shows that despite the administration’s claims, many of the immigrants sent to El Salvador had entered the United States legally and were actively complying with U.S. immigration rules.
At least two of the men imprisoned in El Salvador had been approved by the State Department to resettle as refugees in the U.S. after extensive vetting by federal law enforcement authorities, documents show. At least four had protections against removal through temporary protected status, often called TPS, granted to those fleeing Venezuela’s humanitarian crisis, according to attorneys for the men or records shared with The Post. Others had been active members of Venezuela’s opposition and had open asylum claims.
Rubio has said that the U.S. had to send the Venezuelans to El Salvador that day because their own country would not take back alleged gang members. But records reviewed by The Post show that two deportation flights to Venezuela were also scheduled to leave that weekend carrying dozens of alleged criminals, including at least one man Rubio has publicly accused of gang membership.

There had better be a Nuremberg phase when this is all over with.

And now they're planning on sending such folks back to Venezuela...

Nice reminder though the 2nd point could be levelled against any President you have had.
That isn't remotely accurate.

People voted for the people that passed and signed the legislation. And we continue having a seat at the table when it comes to all legislation.

The tariffs are straight up illegal. Trump does not have the legal authority to actually levy those taxes. But the GOP in Congress are liking this one party rule thing too much to interfere.

That’s a nice way of saying they are a bunch of feckless opportunists hoping to profit from the promised kleptocratic revolution.

Excellent piece by JVL regarding MAGA reaction to George Floyd vs Ashley Babbit (Trump admin just settled with her estate for undisclosed millions):

Just so we’re clear:

A police officer barricaded into a room protecting elected officials from an armed mob attempting to break in for the stated purpose of “hanging” them was not supposed to use deadly force.

But a police officer performing the slow-motion killing of a restrained, nonviolent suspect was (a) well within his rights and also (b) wasn’t really responsible for the guy’s death anyway.

...

I bring all of this up because it’s important not to view this disparity as an example of garden-variety hypocrisy. It’s not. It’s a coherent worldview.

And we should call that worldview by its proper name.

...

But Trump’s legal team isn’t asking the supreme court to rule on whether his policy is constitutional, and very little of the arguments focused on the immigration issues at the heart of Trump’s order. Instead, they are challenging whether lower court judges should be able to block presidential orders nationwide – a move that could overall weaken judicial checks on executive power.

Let's keep one thing in mind. What I heard from some moments in the court case reminded me of what I was hearing in the Immunity case. The conservative majority was obliterating the Trump Admin's case, but providing an opening to "fix" the law they way they see fit.

Give it up for the Trump Admin to fuck things up in this argument, as they did have a viable path to work with. Instead, they went with a void argument. This probably pissed the conservative majority a bit.

Sotomayor really set it up perfectly, you can't be a citizen in just a number of US States. Really, that ends the argument there, but this Plessy SCOTUS is special in the powers of obfuscation.

Doesn't the Republican hysteria about Comey's use of the term "86'd" kind of cancel out the Democrat hysteria about Trump's use of the term bloodbath? Seems like it does, and everyone should just use some common sense and chill the fuck out.
