The Case for Christianity

Ahh, and don't forget the wee liddle children singing songs about Jesus. They learn the songs before reading a page of the bible.

..Jesus Loves Me: A well-known Christian nursery rhyme that teaches children about God's love.

This Little Light of Mine: A song that encourages children to share their faith.
Brainwashing at at early age. Get ‘em while they’re young and you may have ‘em for life.
Haven't you atheists got any 'brain washing' songs of your own, besides the conventional? 😉
Not really.

Speaking of God’s love for little children, how about them little kids dying of brian cancer?

Let me guess. He loves them so much he wants then in heaven just as soon as possible, even before they grow up.
According to the materialists world view. The universe is beautiful and we should celebrate life and accept the process of 'natural selection', regardless of how harsh (and ironically not shocking), it may all seem at times.

Your guess is on the right track. He loves them, and you, and me, that he wants to be rid of the harsh universe and replace it with much much better.

Why does God let little children die of brain cancer?
Is it so different to when a woman gets hit by a truck or a man dies from a heart attack, or other children who are killed in senseless wars?

We all die.... how.. is dependent by the lives we lead.

Some die sooner than others. Perhaps you should ask why we ALL can get cancer, men women... and children. I'm sure you'll still get marks for the "shock" value. 🙄

Another example of the non existence of a XChristiahn.

God created everything.
Innocentk ids die painfully from cancer.
Some die earlier than others.

An ugly sort of reasoning.

Abortion is an abomination against god, but childhood cancer is part of the plan.

But hey, god is love.

Why didn’t he just skip the harsh universe and give us the much better place to begin with?

Oh, wait, he did — but Adam and Eve fucked it all up by eating an apple. Yeah, makes perfect sense.
Quite simple. You got to want to live in a much better world i.e. love your neighbours etc.. and etc...

You do know loads and loads of people don't like loving their neighbours...they make the declaration by themselves by not doing so...that is their demand. They voluntarily 'weed themselves out' of the much better place which can't be this world of course. The much better world is not for them...as according to them! (Free will and all that jazz).

We all die.... how.. is dependent by the lives we lead.

So, children are to blame for their own brain cancer? They did not live right?
Nice approach, but poor. Simple analogy: If habits are hereditary, like those who hate people of different skin colour or background ..you blame the parents...and their parents before them

Umm … hating people of different skin color or background is NOT hereditary.

Perhaps a propensity to some cancers is. So you’re saying a child with brain cancer over which he had no control should blame his ancestors who had no control over their genetics, either. That makes perfect sense … only to you.

Cultural heritage...pardon me.

It runs in the family. What more being exposed to large doses of radiation, for example and passing the effects on to your children.?

You, of course, did not answer the question, again.

Are children responsible for their own brain cancer, or are their parents (neither of whom have any control over their genetics)?

What a silly question pood. Do you actually think anyone,or any Theist out there think there's a debate there between children being responsible or their parents? Bad habits that can cause diseases down the line is the context.

I meant to say previously, that for example, we are quite quick to point out the harmful effects on the unborn baby when the parent mother smokes cigarettes or drinks alcohol or takes drugs are eats seriously bad diets (lack of proper nourishment, due to poverty, wars, greed - not being loved by their neighbours, so to speak, etc and etc..

This is preposterous. There is no evidence that “bad habits” cause brain cancer in children or anyone else. Please answer: why does you all-loving god permit little children to suffer and die of brain cancer?

Also, “bad habits” are not heritable.

Basically, for “Learner,” God is never to blame for anything bad that happens — but gets full credit for good stuff!

So, a child that dies horribly of brain cancer had “bad habits” — or his parents did.

Or let’s say a tsunami wipe out thousands. Well, that’s because the people had the “bad habit” of living on the coast.

Or a tornado kills dozens in a Midwest town. It’s because the inhabitants had the “bad habit” of NOT living on the coast!

Where do you get that idea from? Hitler killed himself at the age of 56. Idi Amin died at the age of 75, from an illness. Children die of leukemia at the age of 4.

How one dies can be a reflection on how one lived, but for most people, it isn't.

And given a chance, the believers among the survivors will get on the local news, raise their hands toward the heavens, and say, "I put myself in the arms of The Lord, and he carried me through. Praise Jesus!!"

All included...by the lives they lead.
Children die of leukemia at the age of 4.
Are we talking in terms of a hereditary disease?

Is this disease, one of those that 'got away' - that "natural selection" allowed to exist like many others?

How one dies can be a reflection on how one lived, but for most people, it isn't.
Most lives are affected by others

Some brutal dictators are assassinated, some live long lives and die of natural causes.

Dude, you said it, not me. You said how people died was a reflection of how they lived. Your response here doesn't address a child dying from leukemia or measles. A child doesn't have much of a track record. Forget about dying at birth... or worse set between conception and birth after adhering to the Fallopian tubes.
How one dies can be a reflection on how one lived, but for most people, it isn't.
Most lives are affected by others
You aren't even responding at this point, just typing words. You made a specific statement without thinking about it. Now you are rearranging the seats on the Titanic as it sinks.

Natural selection 'didn't phase this out' for the poor child unfortunately.

Excuse me, why would natural selection “phase out” brain cancer in children? You have no idea how evolution works, do you?

The key question, which you refuse to answer, is: why does’t your all-powerful god “phase out” brain cancer in children, or in everyone for that matter?

Contrarily, cancer is just what we would expect from a naturalist, evolution-based view of the world

Report: “Bad habits” kill sixty million annually

IIDB (Internet News Service) — More than sixty million people die worldwide each year, according to statistics, and a new study reveals that all of them die because of “bad habits.”

“People killed by tsunamis had the bad habit of living on the coast instead of inland. People killed by tornadoes had the bad habit of living inland instead of the coast. Infants born with incurable brain cancer had the bad habit of playing ‘nurse’ with the nurse, or maybe their parents had the bad habit of fornicating, causing the baby to be born in the first place,” said E. Mota Khan, an internet enshitiffication analyst with the RAND corporation and lead author of the study. “The list goes on.”

“Died in an airplane crash? Your bad habits. Got hit by a speeding car that ran a red light? Your bad habits. Killed by an ax murderer? Again, your bad habits.”

Khan cautioned, however, that not all habits are bad, and good habits prevent millions of deaths annually.

“Praying to Jesus is a great habit to get into,” he said. “For example, if, while in the womb sucking up all of his mother’s nutrients like some lazy bum on the dole, the baby born with incurable brain cancer had prayed to Jesus instead, his dire fate would have been avoided.”
