What scientific facts are you talking about? The claims of "a dramatic impact on the climate, causing melting ice glaciers, worse storms, hotter temps " is not supported by any evidence.

Well, apart from all the evidence of glacial melting, stronger storms, and higher temperatures, obviously.

None of that is real if you cover your eyes.

Depending on where he is on the Anti-Climate Change Pendulum, he can be willing to admit it is real, but it is merely a delta, therefore nothing to talk about.

Which is funny as the OP was about the delta being baked in and what are we going to do to manage the insurance, building codes, agriculture, water access, ... all the issues that are arising from the change... that TSwizzle is occasionally willing to accept has happened. Not how to prevent change, but how to mitigate the impacts.

This thread has been active since 2021. Aside from an imperceptible rise on global average temperature (over 100 years or so) there has been no noticeable change in climate. Do you even understand the meaning of the word rapid?

Would that be the same Coalition that is so representative of the views of Australia that they lost the last national election (May 3rd, 2025) by a landslide?

Barnaby Joyce is a joke, and his Coalition has 43 seats in the House of Representatives, while the Labor government has 94 (out of a total of 150); His bill has a net zero chance of being passed by the House.

It is newsworthy, not because it reflects what Australians think, but because it demonstrates just how out of touch Joyce and his National Party are with the supporters of their coalition partner.

The Coalition lost in a landslide back in May, largely because the Nationals have been able to hold back increasing support for strong action on climate change amongst traditional supporters of their Liberal coalition partner.

This news shows the exact reverse of what you infer; Opposing action on Climate Change is so unpopular here that it has practically destroyed the coalition, and this bill, which has no chance of becoming law, is part of the infighting amongst the losers over whether to stick to the hugely unpopular platform espoused by Joyce (and you!), or to move towards a platform that might stop their coalition from haemorraging votes in their traditional Liberal heartlands in the wealthy suburbs of Sydney and Melbourne.

Your lede should be "Losing party in Australia still can't bring themselves to face up to reality".

I told my atheist friends at our meetup this morning that we had a climate science denialist on IIDB, who referred to climate change as a rapture like cult. They were shocked and said that denying human influenced climate change sounded more like a rapture like cult to them. Just sayin' Then I told them the guy voted for Trump and they said that explains it.

Did I earn an eye roll emoji for that or just some idiotic response? Better yet, maybe the denialist will ignore this post, assuming he has the ability to do that. That would be a first.
