Well the shooter is alive, so at LEAST there will be some illumination on that, unlike in many such incidents.

The shooter is apparently also not in custody. I was a bit curious how a person from 200 yards away could be picked up so quickly without much in the way of security.

That thought crossed my mind as well

We need him at universities as much as we need to be teaching YEC in biology. One thing that is pissing me off about coverage is how Kirk is a Conservative influencer. He isn't a fucking a conservative. He is a far-right lunatic.

But even far-right lunatics have equal protection under our laws in this country. And while he supported the rescinding of equal protection from others, I do not wish the same for him.

Kirk probably travelled with his own security detail, plus whatever local was provided. Depending on where/how many were deployed, you could conceivably collar a guy pretty quick.
Just saying that the “speed of apprehension” doesn’t seem inherently suspicious or odd to me, certainly not at this early stage.

You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry and you won't have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It's drivel. But I... think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. I don't recall this level of coverage when the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives was murdered in her home alongside her husband.
