Trump's Appointments

The video made by the ā€œSeditious Sixā€ was despicable, reckless, and false. Encouraging our warriors to ignore the orders of their Commanders undermines every aspect of ā€œgood order and discipline.ā€ Their foolish screed sows doubt and confusion — which only puts our warriors in danger.

Five of the six individuals in that video do not fall under @DeptofWar jurisdiction (one is CIA and four are former military but not ā€œretiredā€, so they are no longer subject to UCMJ). However, Mark Kelly (retired Navy Commander) is still subject to UCMJ—and he knows that.

As was announced, the Department is reviewing his statements and actions, which were addressed directly to all troops while explicitly using his rank and service affiliation—lending the appearance of authority to his words. Kelly’s conduct brings discredit upon the armed forces and will be addressed appropriately.

So what are the odds on the killer getting away with murdering the National Guards member and shooting another... because the Trump Administration is just that fucking awful at this sort of thing?

Rump was waiting for violence. Rump is gonna make an example of him.
These guys sure enjoy rubbing people out.

Well yeah, but these people are pretty gifted in ineptitude.

So Senator Rand Paul is calling out Hagseth at either an incompetent or a liar about the 2nd boat strike.

GOP senator: Hegseth is either lying about second boat strike or incompetent

Republican Sen. Rand Paul on Tuesday accused Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth of either lying in his public response to news reports that the US military carried out a follow-up strike on a suspected drug boat in September or being incompetent.

ā€œSecretary Hegseth said he had no knowledge of this, and it did not happen. It was fake news. It didn’t happen. And then the next day, from the podium at the White House are saying it did happen,ā€ Paul told reporters in the US Capitol. ā€œSo, either he was lying to us … or he’s incompetent and didn’t know it had happened.ā€

Of course he's right. And he could be both a liar and an incompetent. I'm sure he is.

But then...

ā€œDo we think there’s any chance that … the secretary of the defense did not know there had been a second strike? So as a country, we’re just going to let people lie to us, to our face?ā€ he added.

When is he going to call out Trump as an incompetent and a liar?

More in the story about Hagseth deflecting blame on the military.

OK, This is NOT from the Onion. The use of Calibri is DEI!

At State Dept., a Typeface Falls Victim in the War Against Woke

Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the Biden-era move to the sans serif typeface ā€œwasteful,ā€ casting the return to Times New Roman as part of a push to stamp out diversity efforts.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio waded into the surprisingly fraught politics of typefaces on Tuesday with an order halting the State Department’s official use of Calibri, reversing a 2023 Biden-era directive that Mr. Rubio called a ā€œwastefulā€ sop to diversity.

While mostly framed as a matter of clarity and formality in presentation, Mr. Rubio’s directive to all diplomatic posts around the world blamed ā€œradicalā€ diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility programs for what he said was a misguided and ineffective switch from the serif typeface Times New Roman to sans serif Calibri in official department paperwork.

...

Calibri, sometimes described as soft and modern, is typically considered more accessible for people with reading challenges thanks to its simpler shapes and wider spacing, which make its letters easier to distinguish. Mr. Blinken’s move was applauded by accessibility advocates.

ETA, It looks like Calibri is the default typeface for this forum. I see nothing Woke about using an easier to read typeface.

This is all about scoring points with the Garbage.

WTF?! Didn't Windows kind of head to Calibri over a decade ago? I preferred Times New Roman, but not because of any fear of diversity (WTF?!), but I got used to Calibri... enough that when Aptos came out I didn't like that either.

For years Calibri was the standard typeface we were supposed to use at work for final published reports. Easy to read especially for our foreign clients.

In the last couple years I was there they "Modernized" . They went to some obscure serif typeface, 10Pt medium gray on white. I complained that for older eyes I needed zoom in and highlight each paragraph to make out the contrast. They ignored me. A lot of my clients complained that our reports were too hard to read due to the small font and gray lettering. But it looked cool and professional, if you didn't have to read it, so the complaints were ignored.

A must see video showing Noem being grilled about US veterans being deported.

She is asked to thank our veterans twice which she does very sheepishly. Then she ducked out early for a meeting that had already been cancelled.

I never liked Marco Rubio -- right-winger and liar -- but he seems to be the "only adult" in Trump's Cabinet. In the following report, how much of Rubio's stupidity is genuine, and how much is just him licking the scrotum of a Fuhrer he detests?
Sabrina Haake at Raw Story said:
In late November, Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent instructions to US diplomats, directing them to sell Trump’s immigration policies to allies who don’t want them. In a barely reported move, Rubio instructed diplomats in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada to start ā€œraising concernsā€ about ā€œimmigrant crimeā€ with foreign leaders, while encouraging them to adopt harsher entry restrictions.

Rubio’s directive suggests he is unaware that European leaders regard Trump as an undisciplined moron. Unable to read the global room, Rubio instructed American diplomats to ā€œregularly engage host governmentsā€ on immigrant crime, and to ā€œreport backā€ on allies who seem ā€œoverly supportive of immigrants.ā€

Immigrant crime problem? In the U.S. native-born citizens commit crimes (in all categories) at a much higher rate than immigrants do.

The same commentator tells us about the drunkard imbecile posing as Secretary of War:
Sabrina Haake at Raw Story said:
Two days after the Washington Post first reported that Hegseth issued a command to ā€œKill them allā€ in a September attack on the high seas, which led to a second strike that killed survivors, Hegseth posted a juvenile cartoon making light of his own crime. Hegseth’s post depicted a chubby turtle standing on helicopter skids, laughing as he fires a bazooka close-range at boats below.

Aside from depicting the slaughter of humans as a children’s war game, Hegseth’s post also perpetuates a lie: Neither drugs, nor rifles, nor weapons of any kind have appeared in any of the snuff videos Hegseth and Trump keep posting to brag about the killings. To date, the administration has offered no intelligence or evidence whatsoever, other than Trump’s personal opinion, to support the claim that the destroyed boats were carrying drugs, arms, or illicit cargo. Even if they were, military law requires interdiction, seizure and process, not unilateral, on-the-spot executions.

She also presents a theory of why Epstein had to be murdered:
The House Oversight Committee has released 23,000 pages of correspondence maintained by Epstein’s estate, which is only a portion of the complete file. Salacious details will likely keep peppering the headlines as thirsty staffers read each page, or, more accurately, scan those pages into AI with a command to ā€œselect key words and phrases.ā€ But it’s already clear that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were thinking hard about the best way to turn on Trump, and how to capitalize on whatever dirt they had on him.

I suppose there is now plenty of discussion on the 'Net about this.
