Immigration Issues

Of course the implication when using "concentration camp" evokes the Nazis.
As it should.
I don't know about your jurisdiction.
Where I live Due Process Of The Law is that a suspect can not be held more than 24 hours without being seen by a judge.
A judge will; set a trial date, extend the stay in 'holding', set bail, or dismiss the case. and Etc.
Due Process is set up to PREVENT an Alligator Oubliette or a Death Camp.
The lack of Due Process is a red flag that SHOULD evoke concentration camps and Nazis.
Alligator Oubliette was a Concentration Camp.
Thanks for the lesson on jurisdiction both current and historical as well as due process. I wouldn't know anything about that.

You've also shifted the goal posts, but I know better than to engage in a bad faith argument.

I just cannot understand why we don't use those billions that we spend on ICE to create more immigration vetting and courts that would let people come here that want to do the jobs that we need done.
Many Immigration courts were closed by Trump. Because they have zero interest in respecting the law or the rights of anyone. Closing the courts delays the immigration process and gives them a bigger pool of victims, more red meat for their base.

Because that requires empathy and foresight which many people lack.

Uh oh. The soy boy and the effeminate mayor just humilated the Trump administration. Bovino is being sent home where he will probably "retire". There's a lot of talk of Kristi Noem being fired. And the ICE/Border Patrol forces in Minneapolis are being greatly reduced.

Did you get a boo boo, little Donnie? Don't worry. Lindsey Graham will kiss it and make it all better.

Wonder what all of the right wing free speech warriors think about this (they don't care cough cough).

Minnesota judge summons ICE leader to court, threatens contempt sanctions

Minnesota’s chief federal judge has ordered the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Todd Lyons, to appear in his courtroom Friday and threatened to hold him in contempt for what he says has been repeated defiance of judges’ orders in the state.

“The court’s patience is at an end,” U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz said in a three-page order issued Monday night, demanding the acting director explain himself “personally.”

Schiltz’s frustration has been boiling for weeks amid Operation Metro Surge, the Trump administration’s massive immigration enforcement action in the Twin Cities. The operation has flooded the courts with emergency lawsuits brought by immigrants who say they have been illegally arrested or detained. The judges in the district have agreed nearly every time, ordering their immediate release from custody and warning, in increasingly alarming terms, about rampant violations of the law.

The judge was appointed by W Bush and once clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia. I wonder if Garbage will still call him a loonie leftist judge.

He called someone exercising a constitutional right to bear arms a terrorist and his supporters believe it so....

There must have been a transcription error. The founders meant to say, "the right kind of person shall bear arms".

Let me clarify, since I know some people will focus on technicalities. Trump himself did not directly label Alex Pretti a terrorist. However, his administration made that characterization, and he has made no effort to correct or repudiate it. So by extension, he has effectively called Alex Pretti a terrorist.

Edit: Which would mean a constitutional right under the Second Amendment is terrorism.

Alex Pretti made some very bad decisions that day but he wasn’t a terrorist.

He has called Antifa terrorism however. And any protester against ICE is automatically Antifa.

You said he made bad decisions but wasn’t a terrorist. I’m trying to understand what specific decision you consider ‘bad.’ Helping someone up isn’t criminal. Carrying a firearm is constitutionally protected. He did not resist arrest. So which action crosses the line for you?

In other news. Trump met Kyle Rittenhouse at Mar-a-Lago after his acquittal and called him “a really good young man.” Around the time of the trial, Trump publicly suggested Rittenhouse acted in self-defense and criticized the prosecution. Kyle Rittenhouse was charged early in the case with possession of a dangerous weapon as a minor because he was 17 and had an AR-15-style rifle that he brought to the Kenosha unrest protests. The charge was dropped over a technical interpretation of the law.

Kyle brought a firearm to a protest and.....

Now Trump is branding carrying a gun to protests as wrong.

He tried to help someone and that is woke and therefore bad.

Pretti was obviously there as an agitator and inserted himself into a situation he didn't need to be in. I would also say it was unwise of him to have a firearm when going to these events.
