Yet another war, this time with Iran

Especially if he does it one bite at a time. Georgia, Crimea, Donbas, a bit of Moldova, etc.
Same case as in Ukraine.
"In 2000, Vladimir Putin became Russia's president, while Georgia experienced the Rose Revolution in 2003 and moved towards forging closer ties with the European Union and NATO. Consequently, Georgia–Russia relations deteriorated rapidly by 2006 and spiraled into a diplomatic crisis by 2008."
Ignore Russian concerns at the instigation of NATO and get into a war. Some nations need to be wiser to keep a balasnce.
I suppose if your next door neighbor didn't like your friends you would throw your friends under the bus for your neighbor.
Ukraine and Russia are not just neighbors. Most of the Ukraine has shared families and history.
As I said before my neibhours from upstairs have family there
Better analogy for Ukraine would be a relative who has alcohol problems and who befriended a criminal
I think a better analogy would be someone trying to leave an abusive relationship and being stalked by their ex who claims he's being harmed by the attempt to leave and wants to force the other to stay.
You clearly don't know shit about ukrainian history.
My analogy is correct one. It also applies to Georgia as well. As Nino Burjanadze have attested.
Link to a few sources on that history so I can read it.

I am particularly interested in the relationship between Ukraine and Russia from Stalin to Gorbachev and developments since the breakup of the USSR.

The criminal is Russia?

This is one of the greatest American post WWII militray and foreign policy plunders.

JFK had the Bay Of Pigs.
Carter had the bungled rescue of hostages in Iran.
MacArthur famously dismissed Chinese threats to enter the Korean War if the US crossed a northern boundary.
Continuing the VN War when the militray had decided there was no militray solution. All we need is some more troops.

In his baseness world when things fell apart he just walked away.

Now he is stuck and does not know what to do. Iran has probably been planning for this for decades.

His 'art of the deal' is bluster, intimidation, and being erratic, and ti has failed.

All Trump can do is hope for a break, and it does not seem likely.

Meanwhile our economy and the global economy suffers. He said explicitly none of that matters to hin.

Trump opened the door and Israel used the opportunity to eradicate Palestinians a people.

Amigo: you’ve confused these conflicts a couple times. NATO does not support the Iran war.
Cool, then where are the EU sanctions against US for unprovoked invasion of Iran?
Like this sort of thing: Spain denies US permission to use jointly operated bases to attack Iran?

Letting the US pay for airbases, and then refusing to let the US use them, is a sanction, no?
No, not even close. That can't even be called "sanctions"
I want to see ban on american everything including LNG.
I want to see EU military help sent to Iran.
Why should anyone care what you want?

The US is not NATO; NATO is not the US.
Saying "US/NATO", as though they were somehow one entity, is both absurd and a hallmark of Russian propaganda.
Well, Europe is clearly involved in Ukraine.
So what? Europe is not NATO either.

NATO is a specific organisation, set up as a part of an international mutual defense treaty between twelve countries, two and a half of which are in North America, and the remaining nine and a half in Europe (Iceland straddles the mid-oceanic rift that separates those two continents).

More nations have joined since.
In Iran, they have shown some action (see my post above) and their interest to join if need be.
Nope. The European countries that are engaged in the Gulf conflict are explicitly NOT acting in Iran. That's an entirely US/Israeli mess, and no European nation is going to let themselves be dragged in.

India has defensive forces in the region too. Lots of nations have interests in the GCC states, and are trying to protect those interests without aligning themselves with the US/Israeli stupidity of direct attacks on Iran.
They have not spoken against US action in Venezuela or the sanctions on Cuba.
Yeah, that's called "diplomacy". They have also not spoken in favour of those things.

:) Why does Spain need a US air-base on its soil?
To stop Russia from attacking them.
Is Russia attacking them?
No, because they have US bases on their soil, so such an attack would risk turning the Kremlin into a puddle of glow-in-the-dark glass.

The criminal is obviously the West.

Well, there is plenty of materials from respectable historians about history of Russia and Ukraine.
I recommend you educate yourself so that you don't step into another Hunka debacle.

NATO is not involved in the Ukraine war at all. NATO is a defensive pact. Ukraine is not a NATO country. So the NATO alliance hasn't kicked in.

If NATO was involved NATO ground troops would have poured in immediately. It wouldn't even be a debate in the member countries. The fact that NATO troops are not in Ukraine proves NATO is not involved

Yes we have.

But the fact remains that for geopolitical reasons removing Maduro from power and taking down the Castro regime, is in the interest of the European regimes.

Compare it to the noise made when Trump threatened Greenland. Europe was NOT happy about that.

Its not a US airbase. Its a Spanish airbase they let Americans use. That's a big difference. Its in Spains interest to be nice to USA. Its as simple as that. Its mutually beneficial cooperation

There is a saying that NATO was organized 'to keep Germany down and Russia out'.

Churchill coined the term Iron Curtain to describe the boundary between westrn free Europe and the Soviet block states. The Soviet iron curtain was there to keep people in the Soviet states not to keep people out. The Berlins Wall.

In contrast western Europe and North America have a problem with too many people tying to get in.

NATO is involved in Ukraine. Training, intelligence, and supplying weapons.

That is exactly what US wanted. Not to send their soldiers but let the Ukrainians die. Keep sending armaments so that the conflict does not end.

How is that in the interest of the European regimes? Did Venezuela or Cuba harm European interests?

I will be careful to tell my neighbor that I value him as a neighbor and the issue of my friend should not be spoil that relationship.
And then your neighbor arms up and attacks you.

You really didn't think that through before you posted it.

Saw an interesting piece online regarding the potential issue of the Strait of Hormuz becoming more of an issue in other trade chokepoints, ie, this didn't just open up Pandora's box in the Persian Gulf, but it might have in the Pacific/Indian Ocean too, near Malaysia and Taiwan.

To make matters worse, nothing is happening at this point. Military efforts are tiny tit for tats. Trump continues to have the US Navy manage a blockade of attrition against a blockade of attrition. Trump says he wants the enriched material, but Iran isn't going to give it up. Delays aren't going to give the US any more concessions than they'd receive now. Bombing Iran again, with our reducing stockpiles could cause another change in the chain of command, but Iran's overall chain of command is still in place. We appear to be waiting for Trump to hope no one notices he screwed up, the US got almost nothing in return, and at best, the US gets a poor man replacement set of concessions that don't even match up with the Obama Admin agreement.

The energy markets keep thinking that the Trump Admin at some point will be rational. The question becomes, when do they start doubting that? If the markets reacted like they did with Russia invading Ukraine, the Strait of Hormuz would likely already be reopened as average gasoline prices in the US would have leapt above $6 a gallon.

If this were true, why is the west pushing so hard for sustainable peace? While Russia is not. Russia wants peace, if Ukraine completely disarms. Then 6 months later, Russia will reinvade.

What exactly did USA want and what is your evidence for it?

Biden didn't want to send troops because he was annoyed Europe expects USA to come and save them all the time. Europe didn't send troops because they're afraid of Russian nukes.

I don't think Trump has a plan.

I think the US and European strategy is to help Ukraine win, bu at minimal cost. In Europe, only the Baltic countries have shifted to a war time economy (in order to help Ukraine).

I think both USA and Eurpe have been utter cowards throughout the Ukraine conflict. We should have sent troops long ago. It's still not too late.

Socialism is bad for business. Democracies tend to be more peaceful. It's good for overall wealth, stability and world peace.
