Yet another war, this time with Iran

If you're poor in the west, you are a loser. .. I think Islam is just a project of ever wider aggressive expansion, and anything not Muslim is a valid target. They demonize the west because they demonize everything that isn't Islam. I think it's more like cheering for a team in sports rather than down to ideological differences. .. BTW, I think Islam is a shitty culture. I wish they'd just stop. I think western culture is superior.
It is the same among all people of the world, whether Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist.
It is the same in Christianity. Hindus and Buddhist do not do that.
No one is free from prejudices.

I think you underestimate how much the world has westernized.

The world has westernized so much we think its normal.

500 years ago Islam was, pretty much, the same culture as Europe. Small differences. The enlightenment changed all that. The Ottoman empire became a protective bubble. Colonialism westernized everywhere else. More or less

Fun fact, Buddhism. Or what is thought of as Buddhism in the west, isn't really. Its mostly protestantism in buddhist garb. And this version has been exported to the east and is taking over.

Hinduism has taken a similar journey

You mean only Raul Castro's business? Because fuck the people of Cuba. Why should they have a say in their own destiny?!?
What is US doing in Pakistan? Supporting a Failed Marshal and one of the top corrupt governments in the world. Do people of Pakistan have a say in their own destiny?
We want to ensure their bombs do not fall into the hands of the faction in their government that supports terrorism. You're a likely target, you should care.

He didn't ask whether be should care; He asked whether the US should be overruling the opinions of the people of Pakistan.

Your position seems to be that they should, because the US wants to keep the terrorist faction(s) out of power; But this presupposes two things not in evidence:

1) That the Pakistani people do NOT want to keep the terrorist faction(s) out of power; and

2) That the US is competent to keep the terrorist faction(s) out of power, and that her intervention (no matter how well intentioned) won't make things worse, rather than better.

To the extent that 1 is true, 2 becomes far more likely to be false.

The Pax Americana differs from the Pax Britannica that preceeded it in a few ways - The US is a less "hands on" world hegemon than was the British Empire, and this makes her both more dependent on diplomatic, rather than military, influence; And simultaneously less competent in diplomatic activities, because they are less directly embedded in the countries they wish to influence, and as a consequence are less aware of the vitally important subtleties of public opinion in those countries.

Americans seem to imagine that everyone else thinks like an American. This is a very bad mistake, and leads them into a lot of major blunders.

Trump's entire approach to Iran is this writ large. He genuinely cannot comprehend that the IRGC doesn't have a price, and will not do a deal regardless of what is on offer, whether it be carrot or stick, if it compromises their fundamental beliefs.

Central amongst those beliefs is the the US is not, and never will be, their boss.

To get Iran to do what the US wants requires subtlety; They need to be able to maintain the appearance that they are absolutely NOT doing what the US wants.

That’s news to me. When did the government of Pakistan stop supporting terrorists?

Onward WASP Christian soldiers then. Haha. Only good in the world derives from it even the Buddhists that have converted and don’t even know it yet.

US is overrruling opinions of the people over whole world. Why should Pakistan be special?
Yes, that's my point; Did you have something to add?

Afghans have no problem with Taliban system, they are happy.
Did you take a poll?

Well... The toppling of the Taleban (by the western coalition) and the Taleban coming back, speakes volumes. You may not like that the Taleban are popular in Afghanistan. But if they weren't, they wouldn't have been able to take over.

Western press like taking away agency from the Afghan people. As if they're mindless sheep being manipulated by one side or another. Everything I've seen and read suggests that the Afghan people, very much, are masters of their own destiny and made it happen.

I think it just comes down to different values.

BTW, there's a healthy Afghan tourist industry. You can just go there. There's plenty of youtubers who make travel shows from Afghanistan.

I think the Taleban are the least corrupt govornment Afghanistan has ever had. And that's down to their piety. And I think it's just as simple as that. People don't like when their leaders are corrupt. The Western backed govornments were preposterously corrupt.

In the western press we're very bad at acknowledging what Islamists are actually good at. So we find it baffling how they have any support. But they do. Obviously.

Georgia doesn't like Russia well enough, so Russia goes to war.
It is not a question of liking or disliking. It is real-politic. Don't make your powerful neighbor angry by doing what it does not want.
See how India is adjusting to China. Like US, we have not recognized independence of Taiwan.

BTW, reports say India has operationalized 12 nuclear war-heads - 'ready to fire'. Our air-force and submarines also are ready. China has some 34 operationalized war-heads. We think 12 is enough for us, although we stick to our 'No first use' principle.

I agree with the NFU stance. I want to see the US adopt this policy. Russia threatens to nuke countries almost every single day.

Who on Earth would put any credibility to what Trump says?

Primarily American's who identify as white. Those who identify as Irish, Italian, German, Austrian, Australian, or anything else is less likely to fall for it. But white people? They're the main ones buying what he's selling.

Which means US has not agreed to NFU and has kept its options open. Has Russia nuked any country?
Yes you are correct. The US has not adopted the NFU (I already said that). No Russia hasn’t nuked any country; but they routinely threaten to.

Yup, same reason Islam hates us. Our system is more attractive, they can't compete. So they have to demonize us.
In prosperity, some of them can compete with you. But it is the common Christian and Islamic trait to be expansionist. "Make every one accept the good news", "Make every one accept the mission of Muhammad", whatever be the method. That creates all the problems. Systems are immaterial. Do you find the current US system attractive? Afghans have no problem with Taliban system, they are happy.
I suspect the women are NOT happy with the Taliban system.
