How does the existence of a contingency plan for if the talks fail prove that they weren't seriously interested in the talks?

Or, as one comment (currently on top) says: "Amazing, those bastards dare to prepare for the day after....We never do that, we always, conduct negotiations in good faith and when they blow up in our face, we are totally surprised..."

It is the usual pattern - each side plans a course of action in order to blame the other side for failure. It is simply ignorant or disingenuous to claim otherwise.
