How gays sound like

I have long thought Islam is fundamentally incompatible with western liberal democracy. Some Muslim immigrants adapt to western democracy, but it is fundamentally in conflict. Separation of church and state.
America only officially decriminalized consensual gay sex in the year 2000 and there were Christians on the SCOTUS bench who were against that ruling. Christian Rights movements pushed to ban gay marriage after that.

Sure, things are notably better in the West with notably less violence against gays. So hurrah! However, a non-negligible portion of Christians in the US have been dragged unwillingly to this point. A conservative movement is growing within the Catholic Church, that is critical of the Pope not being harsh enough.

In the end, it isn't Islam, it isn't Christianity, it is the people who choose not to think better when it comes to humanity.

To be fair, I think it’s a facade.
This is a guy who characterizes his own sex life to a forum full of people who could not care less. Z’s “agenda” is custom fabricated for what he think is his audience.
If you look at the other videos created by the same influencers who produced the one linked above, it's clear that most of their "science education" videos are sex-related. :D

Including Justice Clarence Thomas, who is still there and who has explicitly named Lawrence v Texas as a ruling he wishes to overturn.

It wasn't just gay sex.
Yes, heterosexual oral sex was historically illegal in many U.S. states under broad "sodomy" or "crime against nature" laws. These laws criminalized oral and anal sex regardless of the participants' gender, though enforcement and specific wording varied widely by state until the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated them nationwide in 2003.

The difference is in the USA in the long run laws and moral views can change. Jim Crow is gone.

We have separation of church and state, although the boundaries are always pushed by Christina.

The Quran is a framework for a theocracy. I looked at constitutions for Muslim states. There will be a general statement of rightlike free speech and religion, followed by a caveat that those freedoms can not conflict with Quran.

I grew up in Ct with Blue Laws. Major stores were closed on Sunday. No alcohol sales on Sundays.

New England blue laws are historic rules created by Puritans in the 1600s to keep the Christian Sunday holy. They banned work, travel, and fun on the Sabbath. Today, most are gone, but a few states still limit Sunday shopping, car sales, or alcohol.

No one is downplaying the horrors of domestic abuse. Committing genocide to prevent it, however, is both morally repugnant and wouldn't work.

What are you talking about? Who's committing genocide on Swedish Muslims?

I'm sorry you wandered mindlessly into a coversation you couldn't be bothered to understand, accidentaly said horrific things and now look stupid with your progressive and liberal flag in tatters. I suggest backing out before making more of a fool of yourself.

In this thread, this applies to you; why be racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic, when you can just be quiet?

Perhaps you didn't mean to, but you most definetely have been all of these things in this thread.

I'm... homophobic. The gay guy in a stable marriage is homophobic. Because I'm not Islamophobic enough for you. Got it.

Do you do you do? like, mega-coke, by any chance?

Also, threatening me with not calling me "progressive" or "liberal" anymore? If I really piss you off will you punish me by not calling me woke anymore either?

And you, what, "regard" them? And your proposed solution to their problems is to bar them from entering your country? How is that supposed to help them in any way? Fuck your faux-moralistic takes. I care deeply about other people, and I think it's wrong to cynically use them as props to fuel a twisted political agenda as you do.

What the fuck are you talking about?

The Middle-East has a bunch of social and cultural tools, that have evolved over the centuries, to deal with Islamic extremism. They've had to deal with this nonsense since Mohammed. They're aware of it. I suggest reading up on the history of the Ottoman Empire if you want a master class on it. An open, liberal and tolerant culture takes a long time to develop and is very easy to derail. We learned this the hard way in the 1920'ies and 1930'ies. I think liberal values are superior and worth defending.

I have no doubt Muslims who live in the west will over time liberalise. Because it's a nicer life. But culture evolves slowly. Until that happens western culture and western values is vulnerable. I'm not saying Muslims will cause the downfall of the west and create a western caliphate. I don't think there's any risk of that. But it will lead to a hardening of society. Less liberal. More conservative. Tougher on crime. Women will be less safe. There will be more violent crime. Normalisation of domenstic abuse. Etc. I don't like that. It's already a reality in Sweden. I now live in Denmark. I like Denmark. I like Denmark to stay like this.

The last 10 years have made a dramatic cultural shift in Stockholm. The combination of Afghan and Syrian (came in 2015) refugees making the streets of Stockholm unsafe, and an influx of huge sums of money from successful IT companies, have created a walled city of sorts. The night streets of Stockholm are dead. The people have retreated indoors into luxury flats and castles in the country. If you're rich or hot, great, isn't it. But if you're not, you face social isolation. A rigid class system is developing in a country that 30 years ago was famous for it's equality. The liberal and tolerant ethnic Swedes don't feel at home in their own country and have retreated into walled sanctuaries. The walls don't have barbed wire. It's just hedges or even an imaginary walls. But for an outsider, who doesn't have access, that wall is very much reality.

In the 1980'ies the Sweden democrats were a conservative neo-Nazi party with it's leaders making Nazi salutes at party meetings. Their leaders got into street brawls after yelling slurs at Middle-Eastern immigrants. The same party with the same leaders is now Sweden's second biggest political party. They're softened their rhetoric. But I'm not fooled. These are the same people as in the 1980'ies. They might win next election. And I get it.

When stuff happens people react and change. That's what has happened in Sweden. I'm Swedish. But I really don't like Sweden anymore. That's why I don't live there now. I am never coming back.

Anyway... my girlfriend is politically active in Sweden. Lives across the border. She's very much Swedish and loves the country. But she too feels the strain.

I think the progressive, liberal and tolerant West will do more good for the world acting as a beacon of hope, rather than trying to talk unwilling immigrants into conforming to something they don't want to. We can't force people to be free. That has to come from them. And if they don't want to... there's not much we can do. I do think they will want to. Sooner or later. But it can take generations. Until then I think it's wisest to limit immigration from overwhelmingly conservative countries to a trickle.

Edit: And if our goal is to protect persecuted gays in Sweden they need to come without their families. Because their own families is the biggest threat to their safety. So giving refugee status to individual gays makes, way more sense than to invite their whole families. We also do this in all of Scandinavia. If you're gay and Middle-Eastern and don't live in Israel, you're free to settle in any Scandinavian country. The doors couldn't be more open. Anywhere in Scandinavia. Scandinavia really really likes being a safe sanctuary for gays. But we can't be that if we also allow large numbers of immigrants from the Middle-East.

Yeah. And I think you deserved being called out on it.

Which you have the authority to declare because you hate Muslims and do sex therapy with a lesbian.

You've misunderstood the context and accidentally picked the conservative side in a debate. Now you're doubling down, trying to repaint the universe to match your misunderstanding, instead of trying to understand where you took an erroneous path in your thinking.

in Sweden, you are arguing, xenophobia and anti-immigration are the liberal position?

No. You have just projected that onto my posts. I don't think you've bothered to actually try to understand anything I've said. You seem to have decided at some point that I'm a conservative. And read my posts through that lens, filtering out whatever doesn't fit that world view. Not only that, but you seem to do your best to massage my posts into being a clownish parody of conservatism.

As long as you keep doing that... you will never understand my position.

There's also the little detail that what is considered on the left vs right changes country to country. Depending on the political realities of that country.

A right wing politician of Denmark might have the same values as a right wing politician in USA, but compared to left wing US politicians will be way out to the left when it comes to economy.

Americans seem uniquely unable to understand that the rest of the world isn't exactly like USA and doesn't think exactly like Americans. Europeans are way more collectivist than Americans and we don't want our economy to be purely transactional. That's true regardless if we're on the left or right.

The problem with Europeans is well, that they are Europeans.

As much as I detest Trump he is right about one thing. Europe has been given a free ride on security by the USA. Ukraine was a wake up call.

The world in some respects has become American. Rock and roll, pop music, rap music, jazz. Fast food, is there a McDonald's near you in Denmark? Starbucks? Domino's pizza?

Denmark has been assimilated by America! It is inevitable!

I am merely trying to understand your position. What is it that you want done, by whom, and to whom? And what does any of it have to do with your video? You have not been clear.

Oh, stop it. You haven't given a shit about what I have been saying. Its been obvious for years that you have decided in advance what I think, must have meant, made a preposterous interpretation and responded to that. Its basically just the voices in your head.

Just because I think woke is an insidious poison, doesn't make me conservative. Newsflash... I'm super liberal. Woke is like a mind virus that liberals are extra susceptible to. Its because I'm a liberal and can see from the inside, what woke does to our community... makes me hate woke extra much. I'm very much part of the queer community. So's my girlfriend. Very very much.

Edit: this might cheer you up. Me and my girlfriend disagree about Gaza. She's firmly on the leftist mainstream. We still love eachother anyway

Edit: fun fact. Four of my long term girlfriends have or do live in lesbian relationships. I don't know what that says about me. Its not that I convert anyone either. My first proper girlfriend left me for a woman. She hasn't looked back. Or perhaps is a 30 year long phase.

My current girlfriend has never before been atracted to a man before. She can't explain it either. She registers as gay on everyone's gaydar. Including mine. She tends to come across as very lesbian. I have no idea what's going on or what any of it means. I try not to overthink this stuff. If there's attraction there is. Regardless of what label you put on it

Yes, but what are you actually claiming?

Just, that "woke is a mind virus"?

If Swedes believe that "woke is a mind virus" is a liberal position, and that anyone who disagrees with that is a conservative, than I am happy to be conservative by the Swedish definition, as I do not agree with that sentence. In fact, I believe being unaware of social problems is a serious threat to society, than only greater awareness can resolve. People who celebrate their own ignorance, even at cost to others, are the most dangerous threat to democratic rule in any country, whether that makes one "liberal" or "conservative".

If you exclsuively date lesbians but argue against LGBTQ rights, I'd say that makes you a hypocritical asshole.

In the post you are responding to I wrote this

"Oh, stop it. You haven't given a shit about what I have been saying. Its been obvious for years that you have decided in advance what I think, must have meant, made a preposterous interpretation and responded to that. Its basically just the voices in your head."

And then you do the same shit you always do. If this didn't manage to get you to stop yourself from fantasizing I don't think anything I do will

Let me know when you're willing to engage with reality, then we talk. Until then, I have no interest defending myself against things I never said
