By modern standards, of course the Muslim rulers of Spain were terrorist tyrants. Rulers who weren't were the exception in the medieval period; the romanticized story of tolerant Islam comes from grading on the curve -- Christian rulers of the era tended to be even worse. For some reason a lot of people seem to feel this ought to blind us to the amount of progress western culture has made since the middle ages ended, relative to the amount middle eastern culture has made. In any case, cases like this are just a tip of the iceberg. Far more insidious are Islamists that try to effect change by working through the system. In the UK it has been Jeremy "friend of Hamas and friend of Hezbollah" Corbyn's "Your Party", but since that one has mostly faded away, Islamists have found a home in the Green Party. These days, the green stands for Islam, not the environment.

By the way, if you want to go back to jolly old England, this is another insane case where a terrorist cannot be deported because it's allegedly too "dangerous" for him to be sent home.

What "another thread"? If you mean "Europe submits voluntarily", that one hasn't been active in ages.

As to potential solutions, UK (and western countries in general) must vet all migrants thoroughly. Anybody who comes illegally should be deported. And when somebody is dangerous, either because of embrace of Islamist ideology or because of violent crime, they should be deported even if their home country is "dangerous".

Instead, the Burnham government is about to accept even more Islamic mass migrants.
