2026 Mid-Term Elections

Pencils down.
Wut?
I’ve never seen a less informative bunch of graphics. Turns out that “maybe XYZ” is a safe “statement”.
The point is the polling data is inconclusive and there are varying levels of confidence regarding the predicted outcome.

I took this route in 2024 as well. It was the first election I didn't try to call because it appeared indeterminate. In the past few midterms, the polls were accurate. But we've also seen some people like Collins out do all the polls. I think the Dems have the House, that appears certain. The Senate? It could be anywhere from 49-51 to 56+2 - 42. 52-48 would appear to be the not so crazy ceiling.

Late polls are either outliers and it'll be 225 to 230 in the House and 50 to 52 seats (pre-Fetterman switch) in the Senate or indicating a severe blue tsunami where the Dems end up with 56 to 58 caucused seats and 260 seats in a gerrymandered house. The election will hang so heavily on right-wing turnout (and left-wing turnout) and it is impossible to predict that metric.

Yeah, I know I said pencils down, but holy fuck! This could explain Trump redeciding to go to Kansas. Emerson has Hamilton up 4 points in Kansas (49-45)! A month ago it was 2 pts. Imagine this, Collins surviving in Maine and the Dems still easily get to 52+.

Emerson has done better than others with MAGA, so it is a lower sodium take on the poll. And at a 4 pt lead, that is the bare end of the margin of error. Emerson poll says 10 pt Democrat lead in generic House poll.

. Anyone who could possibly still be confused seem to be people half asleep or with dementia.
Trump’s base.

That's why I am not believing too much in the polls this time around. Essentially, when pollsters call up some of these magas, they'll start screaming at the phone, "Get off my lawn!"
Pretty much. Whenever I see political correspondents gushing over the near certainty of elections due to polling, I'm reminded that my favourite video game is XCOM.

[Trump's jet vs. Abdulrahman's Muslim Brotherhood support]
AES accepted funding from a PAC of his MB father in law,
FTFY

and he spoke at the Islamist conference (ISNA) that also featured pro-terrorism speakers.
He published an oped and signed a letter supportive of MB takeover of Egypt.
And he was part of the leadership of the MSA (Muslim Student Association) which is, like ISNA, also affiliated with MB.
The Muslim Brotherhood's U.S. Network
So did his opponent. Mike Rogers voted to send the Muslim Brotherhood 200 million dollars when they took over Egypt. Strange how you don't comment on that since that is far more support than El-Sayad could ever provide.

But... but...I thought that when they go low, we should go high. Well, that statement is ten years old. Bet if Michelle was asked again today, something along the lines of fuck that shit would come out of her mouth.
Compared to the GOP attack ads against the Democratic Governor Candidate in Ohio, that is the higher road.

I think this one will become my all time favorite political commercial.

I've got a question about this tweet. Whose vote are these clowns trying to appeal to?
Younger people that don't know better. You need to understand that younger people today (as in any day) have their own lens on politics that doesn't extend as far back as older people and that the people likely being targeted don't realize just how fucked up the right-wing/"conservative" party has become, because they didn't live 30 years ago. They think this is "normal".

Also, this is New Hampshire, a conservative liberal libertarian state. They'll talk to younger voters about "common sense" governance without the hassle of bringing the context of the last 40 years into perspective, forget the last two years.
