National Organization of Women was taking her seriously when they gave her Susan B. Anthony Award. Likewise for Feminist Majority and their Ms. Wonder award.

A funny thing happened on the way to finding a reputable source of that quote....
... there is none. It appears to be a tweet that may or may not have been sent by an audience member attending her speech at Brown University who may or may not have paraphrased, misreported, or otherwise altered her message. I can't find the text of her speech posted anywhere, so no way to confirm it that way, either. However, when I looked at a Brown Daily Herald editorial response to Sulkowiczs' speech, I found she and Derec agree on a few important points:
I'd really like to hear her actual words or read them in context, and not rely on a tweet of what someone said she said for my information. Derec, can you provide a link to her speech, or a good summary from a reputable source?

I do not see how your conclusion (people take her seriously) stems from the premise (refusal to admit she most likely lied).
I think any rape allegation should be taken seriously. What does that have to do with your fear about some unsubstantiated statement being taken seriously?

In the new "performance art piece" (aka amateur porn) by the infamous Mattress Girl we can actually see the blue mattress in action!

When I first accessed it earlier today it was up, but the video wasn't working. There were many comments however, mostly very negative toward her and her stunts. As I said, the video is no longer available from her website but it has been uploaded to pornhub, under the title "DUMB BLUE-HAIRED ASIAN COLLEGE SLUT GETS FUCKED HARD ON MATTRESS" where it already has 26k views.

I think she has nicely encapsulated the debate surrounding both her consensual-sex-turned-rape allegation, and that of the female Amherst student in the other thread you started. She invites viewers to share their opinions of such encounters, just as you did in the post I quoted here and in your other thread.
The more I read up on her opinions and art projects, the more I realize you and Emma Sulkowicz have a lot in common.

I believe the case is still going on. Carrying a mattress around is not the correct thing to do nor does any speculation prove the point one way or another. Since she has taken this to the courts, they should be left to resolve this issue.
Better than making rape videos to mastrubate to later.

The only case still going on is her victim's case against Columbia.
She has put the mattress down after graduation and now is using it for one of its intended purposes. I.e. she made a porn video that she insists is not a reenactment of her alleged "rape" but she went so far as to change the date on the cameras to 8/27/2012. You can watch the video here (hopefully mods won't object and remove it) where it already has 75k views. The articles mention that the video was directed by somebody named Ted Lawson, but I can't detect any evidence of any conscious direction. There is no changing between cameras (instead we get a four way split screen), no pan or zoom and camera 1 has a bad angle. Lazy effort.
Both Columbia and NYPD resolved the issue already. She lost, which is why she has taken to carrying the mattress and now do amateur simulated rape porn in the first place.

Specific cases make bad jumping off points for generalization. I don't want to taint the topic of rape or campus rape by talking about her very much.
I wonder what a thorough psych evaluation of her would show.
