The Australian answer to global warming

We've already figured it out, just make a whole lot of freezers then make a whole lot of ice and she'll be right mate.

Four words that cause me a great deal of dread: Science Minister Christopher Pyne

Saying one thing and doing the exact opposite is a recurring pattern for this government.

What they say:
"we're for innovation"

What they do:
Block funding for cleantech from the CEFC
Cut funding to CSIRO
Cancel the FTTP NBN
(Attempt to) Make university degrees prohibitively expensive
Subsidise obsolete energy technologies
Approve obsolete energy industries at the cost of damaging the Great Barrier Reef

All their rhetoric about dishonest politicians while they were in Opposition has been shown to be hypocrisy on a spectacular level. Yet the population still won't learn this lesson and will vote for this Government again based on the charisma of their leader.

This government isn't merely incompetent; they are motivated by a failed political ideology where they genuinely believe their insane policies will deliver impossible results.

There is a saying in Australian politics that governments don't win elections they lose them. I don't think many people are impressed by Turnbull, now, but....

That saying certainly applied in 2013, when the Opposition merely had to rubbish the Government without offering a better alternative.

However, the Coalition is safe so long as harmless Bill 'dad-jokes' Shorten is Opposition leader. Not only does he lack Turnbull's charisma, but he is also depending on the same strategy as worked for Abbott in 2013: attack the Government without proposing a more progressive alternative. Unfortunately for Shorten, that tactic works better when you're a full-blown cuntface like Abbott and your traditional supporter base is the capitalist class, social conservatives and right-wing authoritarians.

Ha, if Bernie Sanders were to get elected he would have Guy McPherson in his cabinet.

Just joking, I realize that climate change is happening, but even the pro side has extremists.

Just make him watch this video like Alex in Clockwork Orange watched the violence films:

You people don't understand, they don't need climate scientists because they finished their job and not needed anymore :)
So if you look at the climate market, I think after Paris the argument for climate change is pretty much decided, I think that question has been answered.

Who needs that science stuff anyway? Science leads to Darwinism, which will turn you into a communist-Nazi. You don't want to be a communist-Nazi, do you?

Well, the only other possible outcome is to be a religious fanatic... you don't want to be a suicide bomber now, do you??
