Exploited minorities: should the majority bite the bullet and be fully racist?

Let me explain...

In the USA we had slavery and we also had some degree of legal and de facto colonialization. Same for some European countries.

So, if the country exploited the hell out of people through slavery which was abolished why not send ALL of the slaves back? The country was racist and the nagging guilt is just going to get them in trouble with people who will forever hold a grudge. Admit the racism and go full bore. Expel the former slaves.

Similar for people being exploited oversees, DON'T bring them to your country. Why have a grudge holding minority? It makes no sense. Doing it for narcissistic reasons of thinking better of yourself? Not a good enough reason.

Those who were left alive and up to 5 generations down the line, wouldn't have known where to return to even if they wanted to go back. Just like any other person in the US they were descended from immigrants.
 
Operationally, there are no former slaves left to expel. More importantly, how would expulsion of former slaves reduce any guilt whatsoever? Seems to me, it would increase it, especially if one is proposes to expel the subsequent generation(s) of former slaves.

'Expel?' They didn't get a choice about coming here in the first place, so I guess it makes perfect sense to relieve our guilt by not giving them a choice about going 'back.'
So at least if they hold a grudge, they'll be holding it where we don't have to listen to it.

There are no more slaves--they are all dead. What you have now are the descendants of slaves, born in the USA and with as much right to live there as anyone. You can't send them 'back' anywhere because they didn't come from overseas; their long-dead ancestors did.

Guilt ain't the problem; the problem is people who strive to maintain a horrible status quo that exacerbates socioeconomic disadvantage and are completely unwilling to strive for a society that maximises the happiness of its citizens.

Why are you so worried about people holding grudges? It's paranoid delusion.

The USA is founded upon open immigration; you have one of the most cosmopolitan societies in the world and are better for it. Without that immigration, the USA would not be the economic powerhouse and cultural exporter that it is today.

If there's anyone you should be worried about, it's your home-grown nutjobs and morons who are bringing the country down from the inside.

That's not an option. My heritage is Dutch, English, Scottish, German, more Scottish.
After so many generations of intermixing, sending me 'back' would only work on some sort of time-share plan. The logistics of the citizenships alone would be a nightmare.

For the descendants of slaves, we'd just have to send them back to 'Africa,' and it'll be good. Because it's just one big generic source...
 
When the Accadians were expelled from Nova Scotia, many were forced to return to France after 150years. Most of those people knew noting of France and were persecuted as foreigners by the French people. The majority of these "repatriates" died.

I have a better idea. Yes, let us go full bore and let our guilt consume us. Then we know we have to go back to Europe and give these lands back to the native Americans. And Keith will either have to work out his time share, or we can always help him chop up his body and put the legs in Scotland, the arms in the Netherlands, the torso in Germany, and his head in England. Since, I'm mostly English, I'll just have to give up an arm and then maybe sprinkle some fingers here and there...

Well, if it's a matter of logistics, sure. There's no one to 'give it back' to.

But if the matter is about guilt, then the genocide would make it triple important to assuage that feeling. We should all be living in Olduvai.

I think stuffing 7 billion people into that valley would be just a tad too crowded. It would be more logistically practical to simply commit species suicide.
 
It'd probably be less crowded than your typical airline flight.

Well the floor area of the gorge is about 48km by 20m, so I estimate that if all 8 billion humans were sharing that space, they would have about 120 square millimeters each (that's about 0.2 sq in per person for those watching in black and white).

So only a little less crowded than coach class on a low-cost airliner.
