If so, what did you think of it?
I'm just tired of all the Marvel Super Hero stuff.
All this praise for Margot Robbie's Harley Quin... but is it true that they don't even use the accent from the cartoon where Harley Quin originated? That would totally ruin the character for me and I couldn't see it as Harley Quin. That accent is as essential to Harley Quin as the Bat on the chest and ears on the mask is to Batman.

I'm not sure if it is the same accent as the cartoon, as I haven't seen the cartoon, but it is identifiable as a New York/New Jersey accent.

Because if there's one thing that every character needs, it's having the actor try and fake an accent that's not natural for them. That never ruins everything about a movie.
or a batman that straight up just murders people using guns, or a joker that's a hot topic version of kanye west cosplaying a juggalo, or a superman who's a brooding emo.So get an actor that can pull it off. Harley Quin without her distinctive accent would be like Batman without any gruffness or a Joker that never laughs.

But Robbie is an actor who pulled it off. I don't think that even the most negative reviews of the movie had much of a problem with her character. I can't recall what her accent was like because since you mentioned it, every time I think of what she said, I hear the voice of the cartoon Quinn in my head, but there wasn't anything about Robbie's voice which was too disconcordent from that so as to make me notice it.

My 14 year old pointed out that the accent came and went throughout the movie. She thought it was intentional as moments of Dr. Quinn/Crazy Harley.I'm not sure if it is the same accent as the cartoon, as I haven't seen the cartoon, but it is identifiable as a New York/New Jersey accent.
Oh so maybe they did use it then. Maybe I will watch this film then sometimeOtherwise I'd feel compelled to avoid it.
