I think what you have noticed is that there are a hell of a lot of people so insecure that they will grasp at any idea, regardless of how absurd, that promises that something (or someone) will take care of them.

What is remarkable is that some of the people mentioned in your above believe in being guided by 'astrology'but most likely do not believe in God. I include some top players in stockmarkets for example that buy or sell according to the position of stars,apparently it is happening today.(Perhaps they have endless funding to do so) God forbid if this is how politics is done regarding running of the world lol. There also is the belief of " law of attraction " claimed by successful people,in which I did find interesting some years ago but realised some claimers were selling books on the techniques and becoming successful.

Not forgetting dark trends for example cults such as Satanists of all varying degrees from real believers to the lite trenders who follow the 'in thing' cultural fashion. Movies to music cults, because 'Dark' is trendy remember. Granted this has been quite entertaining to the young wide eyed fascinated by it all life seeking adventurer. It is often argued that our little experienced of life children are inffluenced by what is visually enticing and attracting. Magical adventures,dark heroes with supernatural gifts, Heroes that can kill ten men with a single move and so on.

Religions for 'simpletons' is probably correct (as you put it) but I would say it is not the religions of God that are dominant here. Especially when its not fashionable!

That's just not possible. Not unless you can identify WHICH of the gazillion gods out there is THE one he's talking about. And even then, it depends on which specific believer gets to interpret their interpretation of what that god offers.

Because religions were created for simpletons, to manipulate them at will. It's a matter of evolution. The less evolved the more we need a mom or

you have the right idea here but you can't be blind that both islam and christianity preach that the religion one belongs to is very important. Christians say Jesus is the only way - countries dominated by muslims have islamic law, non-muslims treated like 2nd class citizens

And oh yes what happened to the God who will forgive? No punishment for the evil doer?

This talk about reward and punishment like we are some dogs or something - just today i read a story about a little girl who was kidnapped by a "family friend", raped and killed! Maybe the govt will give him the death penalty and God will torture him? or can he cry some croc tears of remorse, God will forgive him and he will get to go enjoy the good life? What about the poor family, the mother, father, siblings, grandparents - where is the balm for their pain? How does it help them that this evil person is burning in hell?

Hell is Vengeance, not Justice

The dominant religions of the 21st century are medieval religions that made God in the image of their King - get down on one's knees and grovel to the king, assure him of your loyalty("only if you believe you will be rewarded" in today's religion) and he will reward you(Heaven) or else(Hell)!

This is no democracy, you are either with them or else! Heavens are segregated by religion - basically it would be like living in North Korea - the few well-connected(those that belong to the religion) get to live the good life and the vast majority get to suffer!

The dominant religions are communist, dictator religions! Like Saddam favoring the few, his tribal members, God favors the few, "his" people

But we live in democracies - we celebrate freedoms! We have laws that prohibit discrimination - and religion is one of them, but the dominant religions openly discriminate. Their Heavens are segregated for members only! If i were to refuse to sell my house or rent it to Atheists, the govt will come down hard on me, but religious people openly do that!

No mother would divide her own children, no mother would feed one child while starving another. No father would rape his own daughter

But a Master would have no problem doing all the above. Dictators have killed their own people, Saddam killed kurds, even women and children were gassed to death, that Bashir guy in Syria is murdering his own people. Holy books are full of stories of mass murder, not even sparing children!

Hey Syed some scientists stopped by the other day and explained the speed of light in a vacuum. I tested it with my own vacuum when they left, because I'm skeptical and I consider myself practical. I saw no light inside the vacuum. Not even when I took the hoses off and opened the bag. I have to take their word for it, because an awful lot of people agree with them. They don't know how to do the home vacuum test either, but whatever.

Just using the word "god" perpetuates the problem. Use something more descriptive when in conversation like "magic spaceman" or "cosmic magician." When people hear "god" all kinds of thoughtless stupid things keep happening in the brain. One needs deconditioned to the point where critical thinking becomes possible.
