The woman in the video is not only the president of the local NAACP, but a close and dear friend of mine. That exchange was typical of the exchanges at this meeting. Rouzer tried to get a more friendly crowd by having the meeting in a heavily GOP and rural county (Brunswick as opposed to New Hanover), having it at 2 in the afternoon so as to have older people in audience, and having the town hall in an auditorium that seats 1500 which he had hoped would be hard to fill in a rural county on a Monday.

He was wrong. OH was he wrong. People took off work, parents took their kids out of school, and old people don't like people who wanna fuck with their medicare and medicaid, whether they are republican, democrat, or other.

Good to see grass roots democracy at work where the reasoning was well articulated. There are a lot of issues and clearly there is no need for militancy to put points across. Healthcare is an issue where the US should also review any possible ways or reducing the cost without affecting patients. This avoids getting the country into debt. In the UK, this has partly been achieved by reducing administration costs.

You will find the ultra right and ultra left do not respond to logic. The real danger is from the Marxists. If Trump delivers even part of what he promised then there is a chance of him becoming elected again.

One way around this is that the Democrats ensure they are not associated with the Marxist fanatics who are very much pulling the strings in the Women's march. The left and some Islamic groups are more concerned about excluding free speech than ensuring education in our colleges.

One thing I've learned recently...A lot of folks don't realize how important their voices are.

Going to a townhall and applauding is important. But so is calling your rep. And that's relatively easy to do And they have literal formulas to tell how important things are. A townhall visiter is worth X number of voters, a call is worth Y number...and a tweet is worth nothing.

So if you don't like what they're doing, look up the number, and call, at the very least.
