Since it is exactly this type of articles that turn otherwise rational people into accepting irrational premises and irrational leaders on the global stage, I am inclined to give a more realistic perspective just to bring logic and sanity and a reality check back to this thread:
First and foremost, we would have to believe that the birth trends will stay the same, which we as people without crystal balls can
never factually know, because trends are based on what's happened in the past and not some accurate way of gauging what's is in the definitive future.
Secondly, even if trends stay the same, the fact is that even if Muslims become somehow in 2075 the largest religion, it does not equate to having any type of de facto power. Having more people does
not equate to more power because it is precisely
quality of leadership in countries and
not ever
quantity of people that determines and will continue to determine the course of history in terms of obtainment of power and the maintaining of power on the global stage. For example, China has had the world largest population for quite a number of years, yet we're not all here on this forum speaking Chinese. India has the second largest population and yet we're not here on this forum speaking Hindi either. One example of cultural hegemony that presumably should have occurred if the fearmongers were to have back then been perhaps believed about how the "others" have so-and-so numbers of population and so are going to dominate us on the world stage.
Thirdly, we've had the similar kinds of concerns and hysteria about things like Soviet Union and somehow communism spreading worldwide and dominating us in Western Europe and United States. That
didn't happen. Instead, Berlin wall came down, the USSR fell, and China as a communist country was weakened so that part and parcel of the plan for China's modernization has for quite some years now included acceptance of capitalism in modified forms. And that breaking of complete allegiance to communism with inclusion of some capitalism is what led to the rise of China's power in our time. These things at the type U.S. was in a "Cold War" with the USSR and Soviet bloc could
not have been predicted and were frankly not predicted; U.S. instead predicted that we would end up in a nuclear power with USSR, something that also movies of that time reflected because the culture was saturated with that type of hysteria with even drills even happening in schools in the case of an attack.
Fourthly and finally, to be honest, I think it's far more likely if we keep electing globally leaders that are a (a) little "crazy" without being institutionally certifiable, (b) right-wing leaning and (c) incapable of handling situations pragmatically which require both diplomacy and cunning that we're going to inadvertently create a setup that is conducive to the dreaded WWIII that U.S. didn't experience earlier with USSR then. While not completely there yet, the status quo is progressing at an alarming rate of being conducive to WWIII due to the palpable narcissism of globally elected leaders or those standing in dominance as a party within those countries and unfettered nationalism growing in all countries. We're actually sitting on a power keg of a geopolitical situation due to the rising intolerance of "others" everywhere: U.S. keeps irritating Iran, which has in recent history strengthened its ties with Russia with President Donald Trump being ignorant of the fact that the world is not a corporate business in which a person can only make bilateral deals because Russia is now friends with Iran. Russia pretends to aspires to some friendship with the U.S. but probably only because Russia sees the incoming downfall of U.S. in the election of a leader like President Trump whom President Putin believes he will be able to use his cunning to manipulate quite nicely. China has seen fit to hold the largest military demonstration in military history of perhaps the world in recent memory to give U.S. a message. Turkey keeps intermittently threatening Western Europe with letting immigrants that it has taken in travel by way of European Union knowing how citizenry of the countries in EU are mightily concerned about potential terrorists. European Union has its hands full dealing with what it sees as an existential crisis to itself and is therefore likely to deal harshly with U.K. for choosing to opt out of it so as to send a strong message to other countries in the EU that such cannot be done without negative consequences while U.K. keeps trying to put on a good face of this all by pretending that it can get a better deal than is probable.
North Korea in a breaking story today a few hours has just vowed to give U.S. "a ruthless blow" should U.S. continue to provoke the country.
2075, huh? Let's survive first 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020.
By the way, I didn't even get a chance to get to emphasize how Muslims are human beings, something I should have stated perhaps earlier in the thread, because they are treated in some threads as some subhuman species whom we should fear and hate and keep obsessing over - just because - or really because they are somehow perceived as somehow inalienably different and therefore something that some cannot handle thinking of as real breathing human beings who have mundane lives, dreams, and hopes just like the rest of us in the First World.
Peace.
