Well, he managed to offend me - that's a feat. I never harbored ill feelings toward non-violent muslims until I started reading his fundy shit.

It appears that in his absence he researched/thought about wife beating/submission, started a new thread with his insights about that subject and had that thread locked. Both Syed and forum management apparently thought it was not appropriate to merge it into Syed's MegaThread. Gotta keep in clean I suppose.

Well, our counter-argument to the Quran seems to be that you cannot make posts which encourage people to break the fucking law, especially if they're going to do so because someone says someone told them that the invisible voices say it's necessary.

Or maybe there's just no point in continuing a discussion that's so very, very much in the wrong?

True, but there was a kind of interaction happening between Syeds assertions and posters responding, in other words, he wasn't being ignored. Maybe he should have been ignored, maybe not, I don't know. All beside the point now.
