I did some work for an evangelical Christian family business. They substituted prayer for planning.

Politicians in DC invoking a deity for personal guidance scare me to death.

Politicians all over the world who think they are their own personal deity scare me to death.

In my experience the majority pray for advice on what to do, a substitute for rational thought.

One of the republican candidate declared his budget would be biblical based, whatever that means.

Politicians routinely invoke a god. If this were an old movie about finding a remote tribe attributing everything to a god it would be called superstition.

Fine for a community church, dangerous for our Congress.

How would you feel about a surgeon who is asking god what to do when he opens you up?

Provided he has the appropriate training and skills I really don't care. (Unless he of course is an Aztec and is doing open heart surgery on me)
