Yea, it's a good thing that the majority of the "jihadists" are dumb as shit. However, it's just a matter of time before they succeed with a major attack in the US. But of course, we have a calm level headed president who will be able to prevent our collapse!!

I'm wondering if this is merely the first in an uptick of extremists attacks considering the great Trumpelthinskin's stance on Jerusalem last week. Oh yeah, time to add Indonesia to that Muslim ban I suppose.

Totally agree. If he were Christian, he'd be labeled insane. Since he's Muslim, he's a terrorist.
I think they call such bombs "muidiris".
Just goes to show that Trump's immigration policies are working.
If this man had been able to qualify for a student visa and attend a reputable university, he'd have been able to learn how to construct a better bomb and not be such a half-assed terrorist.

Are there reports of mental illness? I hadn't heard yet.
Well, there was that one time that he tried to set off a bomb in a subway station. That's somewhat of a key indicator.

That's a symptom of being a terrorist, not of mental illness.

Uh, I beg to differ. As an 8th grader I used to make and detonate bombs - the smallest of them (3" x 3/4" cylinders) would reliably kill anyone who was within a couple of feet of it, let alone wearing it. My co-conspirator (little brother) set one off on a beach. He was about 30 feet distant when it went off and ended up in the hospital with sand embedded up and down one side of his body.
This incompetent terrorist doesn't even deserve the label.
But what really gets me here, is Cheato saying that THIS ideology (that of the terror buffoon) must be eradicated, but the ideology that has been killing the most Americans (neo-naziism) is to be embraced and coddled.

If he really was a terrorist, he'd be a member of a group, and that group would've made damn sure that the bomb worked. Good thing he wasn't, he was certainly dumb enough. Maybe that's why he wasn't in a group. They knew he was too stupid even to commit suicide properly.
Make no mistake though, he needs to be prosecuted for attempted murder, not terrorism.
I believe that Oscar Wilde said that the only real crime was stupidity. In that case, he'll never see daylight again.

Quite true, in fact, many serial killers are not mentally ill, which is something I personally find counter intuitive.

It's very simple to make a bomb. It's a bit more difficult to make a bomb that you can be certain will not boom before you want it to.
Many terrorists like to use an explosive such as TATP, which is a cyclic trimer of acetone peroxide. It can be made from acetone and hydrogen peroxide, and neither is exactly hard to come by. Another positive (from terrorist point of view) is that it is nitrogen-free, so detection methods that rely on detecting nitrates do not work. However, it is very unstable and can go off from any number of disturbances.
I do not know what explosive this guy used, but I would not be surprised if it was TATP.
Yes, the terrorist failed on two counts apparently. His bomb went off prematurely and it was not very powerful. The latter saved his life.
