CNN admits the sides are different

Or how little the OP Title or OP actually explains what in the heck it is talking about.

Most people don't want to watch a video in order to understand what the thread is about. Some of us CANNOT watch video.

Can you please summarize and make a point?

It appears to be an Israel-Gaza thread. Page the usual suspects and let them duke it out for another 1000 posts.

Since the video has been taken down, let me guess.

The point of this thread is that when the noble state of Israel steals land, oppresses millions, tortures, kidnaps, denies the basics of life, and also kills a few hundred children now and then it is so much more moral than people who fire rockets.

It was CNN admitting that Hamas wants genocide while Israel wants peace and criticizing the world press for treating their demands as equally valid.

You mean the man standing on the neck of the other man sounds more reasonable?

Wait... is CNN the official voice of Hamas? In other news, if Hamas wants to end Israel, they seem to be going about it pretty poorly.

How can anyone possibly care what CNN thinks about all of this. And even if we did pay any attention to what the talking heads at CNN think, how could we possibly trust that their opinions are genuine.

Let CNN sink in their own stupidity or disingenuously sold comments.

Who do you think has more influence over the Western media and the U.S.A. in general, Israel or Hamas.

Who do you think has more power to spread propaganda, Hamas or Israel?

I am shocked that it has taken this long for CNN to get on board. And I am even more shocked that any news outlet is going to actually have an honest opinion.

And this isn't even a knock against Israel. Anyone with their kind of power and their commitment would be incredibly thick not to spread propaganda and influence the media anyway they can.

Who do you think has more power to spread propaganda, Hamas or Israel?

Hamas has far more power because there are so many Muslims that automatically will side with them.

And Hamas threatens reporters that don't toe the party line, Israel does not.

If CNN is so wrong about Israel-Palestine, why is it so right about Ukraine?

It's not even that they are wrong; it's just their opinion should have just as much weight as Joe Shmo from down the street. The only difference is that there is much more reason not to trust there opinion that Joe's. Not to be a conspirator, but I don't have to remind you how powerful the media is.

But everyone gets all their information on the Middle East via the media. So Joe Shmo's opinion isn't of any relevance either.

But Joe Shmo works at CNN

Of course Israel is justified in slaughtering hundreds of civilians

  1. Because rockiets
  2. Because tunnels
  3. Because they kidnapped a couple of people
  4. Because they are Palstinians, and all Palestinians are terrorists, therefore there are no civilians.

More like broke it. Got evidence for your position?

Are you seriously claiming there's not a hell of a lot of westerners (Americans especially) who automatically side with Israel? You, of all people?

Or were you talking about the censorship? Why do you think Reporters without Borders rates Israel at an abysmal 112th place for Press Freedom? Oh they actually tell us: because the Israeli military was specifically targeting journalists in the Palestinian territories; so I guess while Hamas threatens them, Israel... does the exact same thing? It's a far cry from dicatorships sure, and there exist quite a bit of media freedom in Israel... except when it comes to the Palestinian issue, it seems.

I think the main reason is that Hamas has a power to end the rockets (as evidenced by the almost-three-day ceasefire), and Israel has demonstrated that it will return quiet for quiet. Sure the occupation in West Bank and the blockade of Gaza would stay in place, but the "slaughtering of hundreds of civilians" is entirely a result of Hamas's choice to continue the fight, and that could end tomorrow by simple act of Hamas ceasing fire and pursuing their goals by other means.

It's not about who did what, but what could each side do to end the conflict. Sure Israel could stop retaliating, but then what?
