Video of the trial of Oscar Pistorius for the murder of his girl friend is available at http://new.livestream.com/wildabouttrial/events/2811169. It's a whydunnit rather than a whodunnit. The trial is turning out to be quite watchable. There has been 20 trial days to date. If you are not inclined to watch it from the start (I haven't), I suggest you might want to start from day 18, part 3, which is close to the beginning of the cross-examination of Oscar Pistorius, or some point after that. It's quite easy to pick up the story.

Can someone explain to me why it sounds like the defense's expert witness, Dixon, keeps calling the prosecution "My Lady" whenever he responds. I've listened to the clip multiple times, and I am sure I must be mishearing it LOL

I think the rule is that all answers are technically directed towards the judge, who is a woman, so she's referred to by her title when responding. Either that or the defence witness is just an asshole who doesn't want to pass up the chance to tell the prosecutor that he's a little girl.

That might explain it. In the US, the title is "Your Honor" regardless of gender, and testimony is not directed at the judge unless the judge has asked the question directly. As such I was like

Given how Dixon appended the clause to every single answer, and the fact he was getting his ass handed to him by the prosecutor, I would not be surprised to learn he had a passive-aggressive motive.
